so keeping your plant as dry as possible during flowering will increase resin production? was wondering if there was anything i could do to increase this???? skunk, as i said before, you have already given me great tips in the past (EG-coco instead of soil) looks like i am gonna dry my plant out a bit more than what i have been doing! am just about finished with nutes am gonna let mother nature take her course now/ appreciate the tips, that is why i keep logging on every night! i wanna improve,

it's best to saturate your medium, then leave it to dry... but not so dry as you instigate droop. This takes recovery time, which would be best spent producing bud, and trich's.

i overnuted them a a week ago, i had fan leaves dropping off and thought i'd give them a boost/ instead all the way up the leaves curled downwards and yellowed!! pure water the last two waters recovering now (i think) but am gonna skip a day before watering again. thanks dude.

You overnuted and thought you'd give them a boost? I suppose you don't need me to tell you now that that was the worst thing you could have done.

Plants can take a while to recover from an overnute, particularly from an overnute, overnute. You think you've flushed them all out, you feed half strength, and BANG, the little bastard's overnuted again. depending on how bad it is you may have to wait an extra couple of weeks. What I would do in your situation, is flush heavily once... then just keep feeding plain ph'd water till I started to see some signs of undernute. Else you could be there forever, overnuting then getting the plant to recover again.

So long as your plant is still in veg' you won't lose much apart from a little time to allow the plant to recover. If it's in flower, you will lose out a lot on yield.

Just took the weed out of its garbage bag and cut it down.

This plant will not yield 8 oz unfortunately only about 4.
it shrivels up a lot more than i hoped it would but is a bloody good smoke even without curing it and very sticky.
This was the biggest of the buds.
Took plenty of seeds from the lower stems

i only overnuted once, but yeah its taken about threee days to recover. flushed with straight water and can see it bouncing back already. thanks

whats the total weight of all your bud?

Nat, where do you keep your males? How do you stop them from pollinating the whole plant?

Total wet weight when i weighed it yesterday including the stalks,seeds and pre-trimmed was 288grams including the other bud from the other day.
I am hoping for about 4oz total but really the weight is irrelevant to me as i dont sell it,its all for me lol.

To be honest i had hoped that this weed would shrivel less and hold more weight than this in resin and all though its very good it wasn't as heavy as i had hoped it would be.
Probably would have been better if i hadn't of stuck so many seeds on the lower sections and the 2 lesser tops,seeds do take their toll.

I have taken several hundred seeds off this grow not just from the indica but from all the other strains as well.
If you pollinate selected areas carefully you can take good seeds off the plants before the plant has even finished growing.

My stuff will have to be crossed now with hashberry to push out even more resin and increase its weight,hopefully.

I guess the aim is to create a strain that has minimal water storage and maximum resination.
Unfortunately the pppxblueberry is like this with a very high crystal and resin content but it yields only about 50-60 grams per plant.
I am going to grow the pppxbluemalexsativamale on my next grow and attempt to force it to yield by using fimming,4 weeks of veg and a very large toybox pot.

I am going to use a special layering technique to also try to help this which consists of placing some slightly large flatish stones in the bottom of the toybox,then large ball perlite,then some soil then about an inch of sand,from the beach(sterilized)then finally topped of with an 80/20 mix of fine perlite and soil on top with a final topping of the larger perlite balls.
This will help to create a much better atmosphere for the plant and give me excellent drainage and oxygen pockets.

I am also hoping that having been crossed with the triploid sativa male will give some of the sativas size and structure to the pppx whilst retaining the pppxs strength.

I always leave the males in the same cupboard until i see the first balls just begin to droop(before they open they begin to droop and swell)as soon as i see the first ones start to droop i simply take the male away and seal it into a cardboard box with a fairly damp soil,not wet,then over the course of a week or so the male will force as many of its balls to produce pollen as it can before it dies and i can then collect the pollen when im ready.
I store this in another smaller box for using when i am ready.
The male does not need light to finish itself of a bit after it already has some balls.

This is not the ideal situation but i have very limited space and time and it allows me to paint the pollen onto selected branches when i feel like it

Heres a collection of the seed i have got so far from the pppx,mostly sativa,mostly indica and the old 3 yr old granny plant which didn't take to kindly to being seeded in her decrepit condition and i had to take her early as she collapsed so some of her seed is a bit light coloured but most of it will still grow and i have the old original seed to store away now for future experiments.

Also a couple of pics of the weird and wonderful matanuska tundra x my own indica.
Plant looks like its growing horns,very weird plant that seems to swell its pods continually whereas other weeds swell their pods near the end of the flowering cycle.
It seems to make a lot of crystal but is a bit dry in the resin department so this will also be getting crossed with some hashberry in the future,saying that for all i know it may make a lot more resin near the end of its life,will have to wait and see.
This plant was also a victim of my nute experiments so i expect it will do better on the next grow where i will not be testing nutes anymore,for a while anyway







All of them so far i still have some more seeds to come when i harvest from the sativa and the ppp plants and the matanuska.


The pppx seeds,i didn't make to many of these as the plants are a lot smaller and i want to smoke as much as possible and all of the rizlas that you see contain between 2 and 4 seeds.


All the mostly indica seeds.


All the old granny seeds.


The sativa seeds so far,theres about 40 more on the lower stems to come yet when i harvest the plant.

wow man....i just read all of this for like an hour......amazing grow! i got about 200g from an 7 months old girl that was outdoors so i know its very possible. dude....those buds make my mouth water! im in the last 2 weeks of my grow so im just wondering if you keep them in the dark 24/7 a couple days before harvest?.....again....great job

Yes i did bag the plant for 2 days 24/7 before i cut it down,i think it makes it more sticky and a lil bit stronger

Yeah is a bit odd looking init,the plant is almost prickly to the touch even on the lower buds.

I have just harvested the mostly sativa it didnt go for nearly as long as i thought it would due to a large amount of indica.
So anyway it looked ripe like i like it so i cut it,it has been in flower for 72 days.

To be honest,all though its solid solid nuggets and very crystallized i am definitely not keen on the wet smell of this stuff,its very unusual earthy hashy smell with a slight whiff of shaman to it.

I have a preference for fruity sweet bud and this is definitely not fruity.

Having slated my own weeds appearance and smell it is quite definitely some strong shit,solid nuggets of very hard and sticky bud
