Bud Rot

My area has had a wet summer. June was record wet and things are not improving much. I have already lost a lot of bud to rot. I am worried about the major harvest in late sept and early oct. Can anyone share info on ways to minimize losses due to bud rot. I fear a major problem later on, especially if things stay wet. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

budrot from being wet and getting moldy? get some anti mold/disease spray. kinda contradicting a spray that stops mold. use in the mornings only to dry out during the day. if its budworms ( catepillars n shit) then you need a bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) spray. an organic insecticide that will kill them. if you have catepillars, for next time spray with bt before flowering and this will prevent them.

I have had good results from a product called Serenade. It is OMRI listed and says that you can use it right up until harvest. Here in Maine we have had a really dry August and now at the worst possible time it's showering daily and humid as hell!! This could be a friggin disaster!! I'll be using the Serenade weekly and keeping my fingers crossed for super dry sunny days with nice cool nights!!! Good luck and happy growing!!

Serenade smells and can be ineffective. Actinovate will stop it more than likely. Its a foliar and soil drench.

Hi o', i feel your pain dealing with some issues myself, I personally cut whats rotting and cut out as much as possible to hopefully have something, while cutting out some rot, I found 3 bud worms buried in the bud next to stem, they do hide so don't be surprised if they show, better to cut some off plant then to leave and continue rotting all of plant, BE CAREFUL WITH BUD ROT so not to transfer to other parts of plant ALCOHOL FOR CLEANING SCISSORS and keeping hands clean

mix 2tbs. lemon juice and1 tsp. apple cider vinegar in gallon of water and spray on plants. changes ph on surface so mold cant grow. downfall is it gets washed off and needs re-applicating.

Don't forget a couple drops of dish soap to act as a sticking/wetting agent..each spray will go a lot further!

the lemon juice and vinegar dishsoap mixture...do you apply this even if there are no apparent signs of mold ? is it a prevention method ? if so how often do you apply this to your plants ? does it repel mold even after it has begun ? thanks for your time

yes, apply after it rains or when lotta dew is present, if possible.

Hows this affect the taste of the bud? I love the natural solution but I never want to mess with the taste unless I have no choice.
