Sounds great. How much you got your Mars 300w?I've already had a tent,so I don't need tent now,but the light seems good.:weed:
i got it from amazon only $75. you can go to amazon to have a look. Very great choice for beginner like us. Not so expensive, but can get great result.

You can build yourself a decent strips lights for that 500w ish

Loads of threads on here about them.
Yeah 300-400$ can get you a hella nice led strip setup. What space are you in OP?

I just build a 313w strip build for a 3x3 tent, it cost me $400 shipped and all said n done but I purposefully wanted to use a lot of weaker strips instead of less stronger ones, and I used actual heatsink instead of cheapo U frame, plus I wanted an external dimmer. So I could have done it for more like $300.

If you're in a 4x4 tent, you'll want more like 500 watts though. You'd need a bit more than $400 for a cheapo 500w strip build, (maybe $450-500) but it's hella worth it.

I spent a whopping $10 for some 20 watt LED gooseneck grow lights on eBay (can't link yet since I'm new here, but Google: "RundA gooseneck grow lights led" & it will be the first thing that pops up on Amazon). They actually burned my last plant, which was surprising since everyone told me they were weaksauce. 6 piece red; 4 piece blue. Probably not strong enough for multiple plants but could be a good supplement since they clip on to things & can bend around in different directions.

Wish I knew more about this subject but I'm a noob myself. LEDs can get expensive compared to CFLs & other setups.

I recently bought a couple of the ViparSpectra PAR600 for $200, they seem to be rocking my 4x4 nicely. The spectrum is too blue, but here are plenty of photons. One of them would probably work well for a beginner, two should replace a 600hps admirably.

Now, to all the diy folks who are itching tell me I should have built my own;
  • Everyone has their reasons
  • I had two broken arms, but needed to start a new run
  • Mind your own damn business and stfu occasionally
Good luck to the newbs.

@Sexx Pistils - that light might grow a houseplant! 40 of them might grow a pathetic cannabis plant, but they could be okay for rooting clones. Trust. It burned your plant because you got it too damn close.

Exactly. Some of these guys on here are miserable as fuck. To the newbs take every post with a grain of salt. I would find a few growers on here who you trust and that are helpful and just shoot them a DM. Instagram has become a good resource for me also. Tons of growers and breeders who actually have proof to back up their claims. I hate even posting pictures to this site. Dumbasses come out the wood work to critique your plants. People spot shit that’s not there, and will have you hovering over your plants trying to figure out WTF they are talking about.

5 x 3000k citiled cluo38 1206

4 x solstrip 5000k
4 x cree red/blue
2 x solstrip 2700k

Controlled via WiFi.
Powered by a meanwell hlg320h 24a (strips)
Hlg320h c700a (cobs)

I'm using the strips alone at the minute at 300w and borderline need to supplement co2.

Timber Grow lights has a excellent selection of pre built COB’s and quantum boards. They are more costly, but if you don’t want to build them yourself you’ll have to pay a little extra. They are one of the sponsors on this site, I’m sure they would answer any questions.
I got my strips from solstrip.com
Based in the US so duty to the UK was a fair amount. But if you're stateside the prices are good. They also do kits. Strips are the way to go if you're low on height. They sit at 30cm above the canopy. I'll have to lift my light when I use the cobs. (They're basically gonna be my midday sun) but not until I add co2.

I actually flip tonight 9pm to 12/12 on these sunshine daydream. I got around an inch of growth yesterday. I didn't even expect these kind of results. My smaller plant (helmet) affectionate name as it kept a lid on for about a week explaining the size difference. General mutation. These are reg seed too so I may well end up with 3 males yet. Got enough beans to crack on as I need to anyway so no panicking.

I have a single IR led camera mounted to my light so can see what's going on day and night too. Single IR seemed the best option as distance wise I can't see that light registering too much.
