Bugs in late flower

Hi, we are in day 81 autoflower C4 from fastbuds, there are small black bugs over the buds, sugar leafes and underneath the other leaves... Is it spidermites? How do I get rid of them so late into flower? Someone local suggested spraying the entire plant with 50/50 mix of alcohol/RO water. Would it work without having problems with budrot? Please help.

I can't even tell what that insect is , maybe need to get my eyes checked ,If you got good air circulation and you lightly spray the affected areas, with something like Pyrethrum spray you'll be sweet as..

Dont use alcohol if you have trichs on your buds. I would just blast them with plain water and have good circulation so they dry fast.

In a small spray bottle, pour equal amounts of rosemary oil, clove oil, peppermint oil and thyme essential oil. Fill the rest of the bottle with water and shake well. Thoroughly spray an entire plant that's infested with aphids. The active compounds within these essential oils kill adult aphids, nymphs and eggs.

Works for spidermites also and will dissipate over a short period of time. Do it when light first turn on and it will have time to dry fast enough.. A little goes a long way. Rosemary alone should work but the mix is sure to work and work for most undesired insect.. Diatomicious earth is good in prevention and early veg to early bloom. Prevention to top off surrending area top of soil. plant leaves can be done but a complere mist off will be needed next day to insure photosynthesis isen't obstucted. . It cut insect exoskelton and causes insect to dry and die.. Very natural bio organic and very effectif.. And alchool is not recomended for flowering plant.

It looks like cochineal or scale to me. The above links to info about how to treat.

It looks like you caught it early that’s REALLY good because it give you the upper hand!

If you can just remove the affected parts of the plant I would do that AND introduce lady bugs.

If this is an outdoor grow it is hard to regulate the humidity but if it’s indoors raise the humidity if possible because they survive in dry areas. I don’t know anything about growing indoor so I couldn’t advise on the highest safest humidity for that.

From what I read about cochineal and scale they don’t respond well to many organic sprays because they have a hard protective shell over their bodies. If it’s late in flower you probably don’t want to drench in anything.

If it is indoors maybe you could do some sort of chemical bomb????

If you can pluck them off and/or remove as many affected areas then put some lady bugs in. I would put in A LOT of lady bugs, even indoors...

Or

Spray pyrethrins (Monterey Take down spray or something like that) would knock them out and if you make sure that the plant gets good airflow and don’t drench the buds you should be ok. I really mean don’t drench the buds! Light mist and let the wind/fan carry the mist to the plant. The pyrethrins will kill the ladybugs so you probably don’t need to add the ladybugs if you decide to spray or bomb

Use the natural oil treatment mention.. Its 100% effectif. Delute a few drop of each oil in a spray bottle ant thats it. It kills and it repells almkst all undesirable pest.. Nevermind with all this chemical and tecnic. Used comment sense. If you don't wabt to fill a cup and take a drink of it. DON'T USE IT.. And its not cochenil its aphid 100% sur. Have tgreated it in many gardens over the years.. You pluck by hand or use natural remedie. They work are safe.

Pyrethrins for treatment. Potassium Silicate as prevention. Be careful to use any essential oils, it's really easy to overdose and burn the plants, especially with peppermint oil.

Soapy water also works well in veg as prevention. Good luck! :eyesmoke:

I prefer organic stuff too, but if aphids were attacking my cannabis plant, and I couldn’t pluck them off I would use something I knew for sure would kill them.

Do the oils you use ever taint the taste of the bud you sprayed or do you wash your bud (after harvest)? I found that I have to wash anything I spray Neem or other oils on pretty good to get the taste off, if it’s a vegetable or kale harvested too soon after spraying.

I always wash my bud because I grow outdoors and it is cleaner and smoother in my opinion. I have sprayed with Neem oil as a preventative and have some pyrethrin mixture on hand but haven’t had to use it on my cannabis.

The aphids that got my Myrtle and Mandarin tree got the pyrethrin because the natural stuff was loosing the war against them. The Pyrethrin spray took them down! Then I was able to keep them away with organic stuff like Neem and or spinosad.

I find that using the organics works really well as preventative but once the aphid/thrip or mite family moves in I had to take further action. Just my own gardening experience. Everyone has a different experience.

@420country Good luck with your aphids, at first the little family on the leaf looked like cochineal but after zooming In it definitely looks like aphids

You can wrap duct tape around your fingers with the sticky side out. Then gently put tape on leaves only. Sort of wipe them off. It will damage tricombes

Please dont spray shit on your flowers , especially this late in flower. I cant believe people are telling you to spray oil based and ppyrethrins on your flowers this close to the end
This right here exactly.

At this point I wouldn't smoke any of that. Use it for edibles or extracts if you want as high temperatures will kill pests and bacteria. You probably eat multiple aphids a day if you consume fruits and vegetables, it won't kill you, but the effects of smoking them are undocumented. Insects can carry disease.
