Yeah that would be a lot of fun doing that for sure. The fish and crayfish is a bit out of my abilities for a while lol but the aquaponics for lettuce, kale, celery and such is what we are wanting to do. I had my wife find some good heir loom seed companies to get the fruits and vegetable seeds from. My house is full of girls that eat tons of strawberries, oranges, avocados, and all the expensive produce items lol. I already have my lemon tree going. Working on the rest but need more room first!!
Kids are really fun to make, but then there's the expenses, and they don't end at 18 either. Lol
Some years back I saw a video on YouTube of an old woman in Thailand who grows strawberries and she harvested her own seeds by using a knife to shave off the outer layer where all the seeds are. Allows them to dry and the seeds just drop right off. 1 berry turns into a large patch, and strawberries are unique in that they produce runners and spread almost like creeping Charlie.
There's times I wish I lived somewhere tropical because of all the shit I can grow. Fig trees, citrus, avocado, ect... all pricey in the grocery store. Dragon fruit is a big one here in my house and sadly it's so damn expensive.

Are you going to rely solely on natural sunlight or implement artificial when the days grow shorter?

And yes the black market has messed the legal cannabis industry upraise down at the moment. I live in Oklahoma and shit went fucking bonkers here when the made it medical. In the last 3 years Oklahoma has made its self a cannabis farming mad house. So many pot farms off the highways and filling commercial buildings everywhere. It’s crazy the amount of pot that is grown here in such a short time since it’s legalization.
Blows my mind why it's not fully legal! But then again my mind is still blown as to why the US govt has patents on THC And CBD and they renew them. Since when the fuck can you patent a plant? They're the criminals, not us

I will have atifical light for winter times. That’s part of what I’m gonna be investing in. I have enough light for 3 - 4x4 areas now but gonna get a few more lights to add another 6x6 or 7x7 area for staring the indoor gardening stuff. I’ll only have 2 4x4 grow area for cannabis. I’ll make the rooms bigger for moving around the edges to tend plants but plan on a 4x4 spread for lighting I have. I have tomatoes and cucumbers started right now also. We’re planning on growing a variety of herbs also.

In Oklahoma it’s so easy to get a license. It’s to keep the tax of recreational cannabis out of it. It’s like recreational for how easy it is to get a license.

Legally you can grow and wholesale, pay income tax and yet due to cannabis being a schedule 1 you cannot keep your money in the banks. Smh

My uncle lives in Tulsa. I was just down there last year in July. Got him set up for a greenhouse grow with some beans I made.
I have done the building automation setups for a couple big grow houses in the area. The one I’m working now is ridiculous. They went all out on this place. Nicest one I have seen around. They are gonna be able to temper their environment very precisely for each of the 10 50ft x 50ft flower rooms. I think it’s 50x50 very close to that size.

WOW, that's a massive operation. What kind of lighting are they using?

I set up all the controls for lights, hvac, room readings like CO2 humidity for several points in room. And other things I setup to control from a central computer. Also with a touch screen at each room entry to see room details at each room.

Nice. Well if your in Oklahoma and grab some smoke from one of the shops, I may have had a hand in the grow environment:p. F5 farms, Hartland Farms, Creek wood Farms and few others we do the controls for their grow rooms. They have some legit product for sure.
