When I lived in Florida, I saved a turtle once. Felt good.I saw three turtles today. A Softshell at the house, than a Loggerhead {Alligator Snapping Turtle} when I was coming back from the JP patch. This one was pretty small. They get about as big as a washpan. Mean as hell.

And ten feet on down the trail I saw another Softshell. The rain is making them want to lay eggs I guess.

They are always getting killed on the roads. I will stop and move them if I'm not too late for work. When I lived in Florida, I saved a turtle once. Felt good.
I was in my way to work. I was late. I didn't care and they didn't either. They are always getting killed on the roads. I will stop and move them if I'm not too late for work.
When I was about 7-8 years old, me and Mamma saw a big one sleeping in the road. Mamma never had good sense, and she stopped so we could catch it. With her on one side, me on the other and the trunk open, we grabbed him and tossed him in. He was back in the road the second he hit the trunk, and mad as hell. He bit a chunk out of a hoe handle. Needless to say, we didn't get him back in the car.Gotta watch those snappers. They'll reach right around and bite the fire out of ya. One got my pinkie finger once. Hurt something fierce.
The one I rescued was not a snapping turtle. I don't fuck with those.Gotta watch those snappers. They'll reach right around and bite the fire out of ya. One got my pinkie finger once. Hurt something fierce.
I saw one crush the neck of a beer bottle. That's some chomping power. Bye-bye pinky. The one I rescued was not a snapping turtle. I don't fuck with those.
Oh he got me good but he was just a little guy so he only took a little chunk. Thats alright though. He regretted it immediately I'm sure. Reflexes sent his ass flying in to the ditch.I saw one crush the neck of a beer bottle. That's some chomping power. Bye-bye pinky.
thats an interesting looking turtle.Ive saved three from the road these past few weeks, on the move up here as well, although its typically painted or snappers up hereI saw three turtles today. You have to lure them away not physically move them, works good as long as youre out of range. The one I rescued was not a snapping turtle. I don't fuck with those.
I was in an urban area of South Florida and the snappers there were plenty shy of people. You have to lure them away not physically move them, works good as long as youre out of range.
Awwwww he's a cutie!I ran into a trail maintainer, and the last thing he told me was to look out for rattle snakes. He said there had been a lot seen lately. Late that night I blue blazed about a mile to a picnic area to charge my devices and use a flush toilet. Night hiking is always more intense because all you see is the trail at your feet. Just as I got to the area and was starting to put my pack down, I came across this little guy. Harmless whiteoak snake, but he still gave me a start.
