Very nice thread! I havn't been here In a bit but happy I checked In again...I'm getting ready for another grow cycle(still very green! but having alot of fun with It) your explanation on the pvc netting was awesome! It just never "clicked" until I tread your post!!!

The netting, itself, provides support and guidance.
It also MAINLY enables a low profile for the plant to grow along while also allowing light to penetrate pretty much the entire plant.
No waste of space or light equals a higher yield that a "tree" grown in the same space can't match harvest-wise, IMHO.
I've seen 10 oz - 20oz grows in say a 2ft x 3ft space, WITH 1 PLANT, that's no higher than 3ft from the ground to the top of the plants colas in SCROG.
NEVER seen that kind of yield with 1 plant grow without training in the same space !!
Not to say it can't be done.
Think : How many plants would be needed in a SOG grow using the same space, to get that same yield from SCROG ?
Now you're talking too many plants and even jail time for most ppl !!
The MAIN down side to SCROG is the longer veg sometime needed depending on strain, but damn if the reward aint worth it !!
That's what I did.
Read and read then said "fuck it" and went for it.
Now it's my PREFERRED way with my limited space.
But that's what's so perfect about SCROG, you get more plant in a smaller space.
I even know folks that attach individual nets and supports legs to their buckets.
So they have 3 or 4 plants each SCROG'd in a 1ft x 1ft space, which is the MINIMUM that's recommended PER PLANT.
And they get 3 - 5 ounces per plant, with each only using a 1ft x 1ft space.

They all still only have a handful of roots in the rez.
But they have all also gained 1 or 2 more nodes.
DAY 22 VEG !
I turned on the 400W HPS about 4 days ago.
It's on a 12 on - 12 off schedule while the 2 big CFL's stay on 24hrs/day.
Giving them a mixed spectrum for a few hours and they are liking it too.
3 - 5 more weeks and bloom will have to start.
5 more weeks MAX, regardless of their size b/c I have other plans and these are in the way !! lol

oh wow what a difference in the plants...have you found out why the left side wasnt growing as fast? well the right side looks awesome..hopefully the left side starts picking up

No, still haven't found out what's up yet Stoner P .
Made some changes to them though.

I finally poured all the hydroton out of each net pot and left one layer of stones in the bottom.
Then put the hydroton back in and around the rooter plugs, just to get the roots in the water.
Only took about 8 hrs for them to perk back up.
I still don't plan on blooming for another 3 - 5 weeks, so we'll see.
They clearly fuck up the SCROG for now !!!
Also did some defoliation, for the 2nd time, this evening.
The 1st time was 2 days ago.

ohhh weee those chicks on the right are vegging nicely.
Here's an example of what I'm just starting. I'm not planning on topping but instead just letting the main stem coil up underneath the screen. Since each of these ScrOG can be taken out of the cab at any time it makes the maintenance much easier hence the low height of the screen.
Now that my setup is running on it's own, I'm scribed here so I can sit back and enjoy other people's grows.
