Cal-mag pills from drug stores. Can i use them?

Hi everyone need help here in manila. Can't get cal-mag or cal-mag plus here but i can buy this cal- mag pills dirt cheap here is the link of that pill

My tap water is neutral around 7.20 to 7.44 pH and soft about 0060 to 0070 ppm, 0.10 EC

Im growing on coco coir perlite 60/40 mix and having cal mag phosphorus deficiency.

Im thinking if i can use this pill crash it and mix it to my water to increase the ppm to 0150 and 0.20+ EC
and mix S.T.E.M soluble trace element mix by Scott peter's will it work as a substitute for cam-mag plus?

Hmm,,,,Might for the Ca, not for the Mg.
For the Calcium.....Use dry ground eggshells!! I'll bet you can get that for free! It is important to grind them as fine as you can....To effectively get the Ca into the plant. You should should let the crushed eggshell sit in your water 24 to 48 hrs before use.
Another source of Calcium can be powdered milk....just mix it in your feed/water mix at about 1 1/2 tsp per gallon.

Can you get Epsom Salts? That is your Mg.....Matches can work in a pinch too. Soak a book of matches in water for 48hrs and you have Mg available,,,,sulfur is an added by product of this method and that's a bonus. Watch how much you use of this as it adds P also.

Is that a comercial Coco? Did you wash it first? Most come pre washed now a days.....But where you live maybe not.
Controlling your pH is going to be very important! 5.8 to 6.2 is the target range with 5.8 as the goal.

Yes i have epsom salt. And yes i wash my cocos now. before i just soak it and killed alot of clones. I found out that after the first wash the ppm of the water that i use to rinse it is 1200 ppm! 2nd wash 0750 ppm 3rd wash 0270 ppm 4th wash 0120 ppm after this i still flush the coco 2x its container size with 1/4 streght high p nuts with S.T.E.M..but as i know S.T.E.M has no calcium and magnesium on it and my tap water is 0060 ppm only i think thats why im still having cal mag def and phosphorus def also (i just bought the peter's 9-45-15) a week ago to fix this P def. and for the pH i always pH my nuts and water to 5.8. Before 5.5 because when i
Measure the runoff it fluctuates to 6.8 (days of just soaking coco to 5.8 tap water) but now i give it 5.8 and the runoff will be 5.8 to 5.9 sometimes.

Be careful of the High P peters. Use very sparingly as that high a P will cause other problems down the road. Use once and then maybe a month later.......as your P problems are based on the low Ca and Mg.....

I am very interested in trying what Dr. Who has said for cal and mg i am using pure blend pro for veg and it just ain't enough can you mix the egg shells and let the book of matches sit in the same gallon of water and how many egg shells would you recommend I know what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow thanks

Let the egg shells dry out well.....crush by hand and soak 3 eggs worth in a G of water for 1 -2 days......Remove eggshells and dry them out again....crush finer how ever you can (be creative) repeat soak. Remove the egg shells again and dry...Powder the shells with an old coffee/spice grinder. Now mix that in your soil mix's along with your dolomite lime (combine the coarse dolomite with the eggshell powder to 1 cup and mix that to 1cf of soil mix).....pH swings will be a breeze and you won't need to supplement with a liquid....
I save the shells up after the second crushing, till I have enough to use in my grinder to fill my needs. Stores well.

You can get Epsom cheaply and you get lots for the price.....Use that before the matches! Matches are a last resort for the ultra poor or can't get anything else....

NOTE: Powdered eggshells make a GREAT supplement to Coco!

dolomite lime

I think the cal-mag pills is working coz the stems are getting greener everyday now. And also i think i know the main problems now. 1st i only feed my plants once a week every sunday with half strength nut and water them tuesdays and thursdays. 2nd my tap water is to soft 0060 ppm or 1 EC.
3rd all of my previous nut/ferts has no calcium and magnesium on it thats why i have calmag def.

Now im not really sure if ther is something on the ingredients
that is bad for the plants. Ill post the ingredients of the cal-mag pill and the garden.

The flowering plants suffered the most. there in 4.5 weeks 12/12 now and i only apply the cal-mag pills on the 3rd week coz they look like there about to die and i am still not sure if this cal mag pill is safe to use. But now i think they will survive.

And one more thing should i discard the 8 flowering plants? Will they recover and finish on time? Definitely not! Or ill just flower them longer than it should be?

calibrate your tds meter. that seems low unless your using reverse osmosis water.you need a buffer solution for that.

Yes i do have a TDS buffer solution the 2000 ppm buffer and my pH & TDS meter are well calibrated. And yes my tap water tds is low 0060 rarely 0070 ppm.

Yeah 2:1 Ca to Mg right? My problem is not the ratio but the amount.
I noticed that some of the purpling on my mothers are on different parts. On my main mother came from seed, the purpling are on the top part and the other mother which came from clone , have purpling on the lower part. the brown spots are on the old fun leaves but now they are all turning green little by little everyday. should i double the dose of the cal-mag pill or just add epsom salt? Ill cut some fan leaves and get photos of my deficiencies.

oh forgot to mention that i cant get dolomite lime in all home depot, garden shops, hardware
Crazy huh! Also that is one of the main prob here, supplies! There are no good hydroponic shops here. maybe one of you might want to open a hydro shop here. im pretty sure it will be a good venture

I use egg shells citrus peels and for my potassium I used banana peel tea
