callin' all cfl stealth growers

Very nice CFL grows! Simply amazing.
I definitely would appreciate the secrecy of a stealth box right now. I have some relatives coming over, and they always seem to show up when my plants are in advanced flowering stages. Not good!
I like my grow area right now, but ventilating smell out with some kind of exhaust is not possible where it is.

The area is built into the side of my closet, and is a perfect space, other than there is no window near-bye. It was built out of some reflective window blinds I found, and a piece of plywood. After borrowing some tools from my school I went to work. I wanted Metal halid lighting, but I bought a 130 watt (red spectrum CFL) and that's pretty much what you see.

As far as these relatives coming over, I was thinking I will seal off my grow chamber with garbage bags (already done), and change my 26 watt bulbs for 13 watt bulbs, just for one day (leaving the 130 watt on also). I will place a large block of ice within the grow chamber, with a fan blowing the cool air created from the ice over the plants and the 130 watt bulb. Since there will be little, or no outside air coming in, I will be relying on the ice, and the extra circulation room I included, to keep temperatures at a reasonable level. I think I better test run this scheme before i put it into motion.

anyway, here's some pot pictures.

This is my stealth CFL grow. It is a 2 stage veg and flower(white cab is veg, chest of "drawers" are flower). The bud is from my first grow and the plants in there are my second grow(clones off of the original 2 clones I was given). If it wasnt for this site and particularly all the CFLers out there my plants would all be dead. I am running 400watts of 2700K in my flower cab with fruitopia reflectors, and bout 200watts of 6500K in my veg cab. I am using PC fans hooked up to a variable volts converter as exhaust and intake on both my cabs. Go CFLers! Good growing everyone:clap:

PS. I threw in a sweet pic of a snapping turtle I took.

Love the setup man. I have sorta the same thing going on with my dresser (except I've been too lazy to make a door out of the drawers, lol). I'm almost using the same wattage of cfls you are to.

Thanks for the advice.
Ya I was thinking about T-5's. Supposedly they're slightly more efficient than the new CFLs.
The thing is they're $40 a tube @ my hydro store, and they are really skinny tubes, meant for seedlings.

I would need to find somewhere online to get a T-5 system. Also the minimum 24' length might now fit the best in my current setup, although I do enjoy setting it up differently sometimes.
I live in Canada so i'll have to see if I can find fairly priced T-5's somewhere. I don't like shipping over the boarder from the USA because you get slaughtered on shipping, and you lose perks like free shipping.

Hey everybody, just thought I'd share my setup. I am currently on my second grow using a rubbermaid setup with CFL's. The first grow ended well and I am super happy with the results, more than enough to last until this current grow finishes. I use a mix of about 110 W of 6500K and 90 W of 2700k vegging and about 200W of 2700k for flowering. I am quite happy with the CFLs but am thinking about changing from my rubbermaid to a cabinet in the future. for Here are some pics:

Thats quite the trunk on that one plant. Good job.
I don't know if you really need a cabinet, you seem to be doing well right now.
I know I would like the luxury of being able to move my grow space around, well right now anyways with these dang relatives showing up.

Great thread nitroman.

Here's some pics of the last plant out of my perpetual pc grow a couple of weeks back and one of the case from yesterday:

i still have alot better results with one bulb than i could ever get with 100 cfl's.

ive never seen a cfl grow a bud that was actually dense after it was cured. my hps nugs are hard and sticky

Good for you. But who gives a shit about your HPS, you dont think Everyone in here tried to work an HID into there system but settled with cfls becuz of heat/stealth/space etc. One day I will use HPS, But It wont be for a few years. Besides, as long as it gets you baked, CFL's will keep rockin.

I asked the CFL Growers Club what they thought of your post, blakkmask, and they responded:

Hey Roseman, aside from your setup looking like a real electro-hazard, those buds look good enuff for you to invite me over for a "session"

I started my first grow with one tank and two 85 watt bulbs. Halfway through tht grow, I added 2 65 watt bulbs.
2nd grow, I added two more 85 watt bulbs, and 3rd grow I added two more 85s. 4th grow, I added another tank and two 105s, then some 42s and by my 7th grow, I had 4 65s, 4 85s, two 105s, and 6 42s. Someoby please stop me. I need help, I can't quit adding bulbs. I'm just a bulb addict. LOL

Roseman def doing us CFL growers pround. My first grow I got 5.4 oz from 6 plants in 2 months seed to flower. Gotta love the CFLs!

Here's a sampling.
