thats plenty of light, but it has been said that tin foil is not good. it will supposedly cause hot spots that burn your plants. i have never used though. but if you have a solid white surface that will work, or the sun reflectors people put in there car windshield. look at riddlemes goin loco link in his sig. only 97 watts used.

Okay so I found a warmer place for overnight... but is 105 for max temp too hot? No sprouts yet...
If you have a boiler cupboard in your house or a boiler anywhere in your house leave the seeds there, they tend to radiate heat. i can agree with riddle 95 is the sweet spot, can usually be found in my boiler cupboard :D. If you try using some paper towels moistening them and putting them in a half sealed baggie in a dark warm place you should have sprouts within 48-72 hours, my record is 24 with that method :D . i would say 105 will be ok as long as it doesent go up at all. Good Luck ....

Thnx for the luck! I still need it lol. Uhhh let's see... I have 5 seeds in a washcloth, in a little jar with a little water, sitting on the back of my tv. It's a pain to access my water heater bc to do so I have to go outside- so I leave my tv on all night and they been on there since thursday. Temps are pretty regular there, max is reading at 102 and min at 86 and so far all 5 have split and I can see the little bitty white soon to be sprouts... but not alot of progress other than that. I am so ready to plant and get it right this time, there are the last of all my bag seeds! Hopefully my friend in AK will come through and send me some of her seeds! Missin Alaskan budz- better than the schwagg I found runnin around here in the lower 48- which are the kind of seeds I have atm. I'm frustrated though because I been tryin to do this since July and things keep going wrong... Not gonna give up though :) thank you {&everybody else :D} for your advice- Uber Noob here lol!!

Take a pic for us if you can, sorry to hear of all your misfortune. Maybe try planting straight into soil on the next run?

Hey riddleme and all else! I think I have a supercrop candidate here and would like some opinions. She is suppose to be a Lemon Skunk and showed sex about 9 days ago. She didn't respond well to LST so I was just gonna go for one main cola. But I think if I supercrop right in the center, or one node below center, she could do so much better. Plus she may hit the light, and she doesn't seem to like being that close to the light compared to my bagseed growing right beside her. Does anyone think supercropping right now would hurt? I think riddleme, bigman, and daniels all supercropped this far or farther into flower, so I am thinking I am good. But hey, I am about to break my plant, so just fishing for reassurance. Thanks everyone :weed:

Oh, she does seem to have a slight over nute looking at the top leaves tips pointing up, but the lower leaves are a little saggy but I don't think it is heat or light because the top looks good. I think soil pH may be a little off, so I will do a water at pH of 7 ish next to help her out. Anyone think to the contrary?

Thanks everyone!

all my threads are special :)

PS it's in my sig
Riddle,

I just finished reading this thread from start to finish and also your Balls to the Walls! Your threads are much much more than SPECIAL, dont undercut yourself....I dont have any questions about "Making It Rain" because I did read the whole thread. I will say that what kept me reading was how you pointed out to everyone that only read parts of it that they are missing out on a lot of good info.....So I said to myself I would not post nothing on this AWESOME THREAD until I was finished reading it. 5 days later and let me tell you, I read every single reply and also followed other links that you and others recommended or posted on here. I am a newbee and I didnt fully understand the Make it Rain until I read your Balls to the Walls post about Making it Rain. If i remember correctly its on pg 93 of this thread. This thread at times did get a bit confusing but thats only because I am a newbee and sometimes it doesnt help when I am smoking bowl after bowl and going to bed late because I am hooked on your threads. I already joined the "Make it Rain" group because the evidence is there in your grow journal and everyone who is doing it in this thread. I am going to make it rain from here on out.

I wish I read this thread before I even started growing my 1st plant. What i know now after reading your threads gives me confidence in growing and gives me hope that one day I too can be as helpful to others are you are to all of us. I am so thankful to have started to learn how to grow and what I cant stand are haters out there and people who will crush your confidence as a newbee. Growing and being able to smoke your own bud has to be a real good feeling. I am not there yet but I will be, especially if I follow your threads and all the trusted people here at RIU. Right now what growing has done for me is taking a lot of stress out of my life, its an amazing hobby and its one of the best things I have done to help myself in a long time.

I know you are probably busy with a lot of questions but if you have some spare time to check out my plant I would be greatful. I dont want to post the link here cause not sure if thats disrespect your thread.
Cowboy helped me and posted on my thread and i feel my plant is a lot healthier because of people like you and him that do care about us newbees and it also says alot about you all because you never forget where you came from, everyone was a newbee at one time and I dont understand why poeple forget that and dont help us that currently are newbees.

Sorry for rambling on but your threads really opened up my eyes and mind and I appreciate you and all who have chimmed in on Riddle's post! Ohhh I almost forgot, Thats my $1. sorry i couldnt keep it to just .02 cents...LOL I cant wait to make it RAIN BABY!!!!

Thank you for the kind words, glad you are enjoying the threads and welcome to the world of growers :) it has been shown time and time again that the folks that take the time to read all of my threads come out growing and yet there only remains a small percentage that does and while I am still surprised by this (on a logical level) I understand that a lot of folks simply want to hold tight to the myths and therefore believe I am a heretic in the MJ info world :hump:

please do post a link to your grow so all of us can have a look

Well, hopefully these will be the last seeds that I have to give up on. I gave them 2 weeks and 3 days, they didn't sprout and the inside of one was mushy (ew and it smelled bad) :( I'm thinking that maybe they were too old and not of good quality, I got them October last year. I'm hopeful for the next seeds I get, I'm going to read up as much as I can on RIU until then! Thanks for the advice guys :)

Thanks Riddle and the world of growers!!!! Well I guess thats an advantage of being a real true newbee because I dont know any myths about growing. Here is my link on the problem I had with my plant: https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/378712-need-help-please-phosphorus-deficiency.html. Its a small thread but I learned alot from it and thats what is important to me because those mistakes I make will improve future grows. Peace to all and lets go PROP 19, Cali needs it BADLY!!!! LOL

wow amazing info. I finished my first grow some time ago and it was pretty much nothing but a learning experience and am about to start my new grow. Sure wish i woulda seen this before my first grow. I started it with 4 nirvana black berry seeds and 2 nirvana white widows, 4 bulb t5 fixture for veg and a 400w mh for flower and i ended up with all the lk berries going hermie and the 2 WW were femed seeds they turned out ok but didnt get real big. I am confident that this info will have a positive effect on my next grow.

i know. if they passed it, it would have been a ripple effect, just like MMJ was. sigh
I will say this.... I dont want to hear Cali complaining no more about how much we are in Debt and what are we going to do about our crazy un-employment rates, which is breaking records right now in Cali. I truely believe that if it was passed a lot of other states would be right onboard and that would of been a nice bump in our economy in the right direction nation-wide. Oh well, one day we will get it right and get rid of the black market money grubbing fools!!! Its all about the :leaf: and not the $. :bigjoint:

Just out of curiosity, has anyone using the 400watt CMH ever use a 400watt HPS and if so, can you tell the diffence in the heat it gives off compared to the heat a HPS gives off?

Riddle that link was very intersted especially when they talk about Lumens are a scientific definition based on the human eye and NOT on a plants response curve. Thanks.
RMH has both CMH & HPS perhaps he will chime in with an answer, myself, I have never owned an HPS

and yes it's true plants have no idea what so ever WTF a lumen is, means absolutely nothing to plants :)

That my friend was a nice Nugget..... I hope RMH can chime in cause I am eager to know. Thanks Riddle!!!!
Hey Bekind, don't mean to cut in but I run a 400 CMH and I also used a 400 HPS last grow for a couple weeks and did not notice much of a difference heat wise. Maybe a couple degrees diff but my space is open and I have a fan blowing at the light. If I am not mistaken, my temps were 82 with the HPS at canopy level and 79-80 degrees with the CMH.

Hope it helped.

Peace

Big,
Yes that helped and thanks, since you have both, in your opinion which do you like better and if you can maybe list some pro's n con's from your expierences? Thanks bro and My Giants put a hurting on your Lions this year...LOL Peace.

Your right about that hurtin but most everybody puts a huting on them.LOL They are starting to gel a little though so we will see.

Can't really say which I like better. First time trying it so nothing to compare it too. A good friend and I started a journal together and he has been running a 400 CMH the first four weeks of flower then switches to a 600 HPS for 2 weeks to bulk em up he say's and then back to the CMH to finish. He has been experimenting with different combo's and this works the best in his opinion. I run somewhat perpetual now with a harvest every 3-4 weeks so its hard to get the timing down to that schedule with plants in different stages. When I get my stash built up then I will be able to do more experimenting with these things.

Drop by the thread, its in my sig(Multy grower thread) and give it a read. Gets going pretty good and Cowboy could maybe answer the CMH/HPS question better.

Peace

Big
