can I re-dry and still get amazing smell and taste?

Hey guys, first time grower here. I've successfully completed my first outdoor crop. Some bugs, some rot, some mold, had to pull out a week or two early to save them. My question is this.

I've recently completed drying most of my plants. They range in drying times of 4-6 days. I wasn't fully sure of when they're considered dry enough to jar up. I read lots of info and watched some videos. My temps in the room were 65-68 with a rh ranging from 60-65 depending on the weather.

The stuff I jarred up after 6 days seemed a bit too dry for my liking. Hard, a little crispy and has the hay smell. The stuff I jarred after 5 days was a little crisp on the sugar leaves but still had bounce back when squeezed lightly and has the hay smell. The 4 day dry is basically the same outcome as the 5 day dry.

It's been 9 days since I jarred up my first bit. I've been burping daily for at least 30 minutes a day. The moisture content in all of it hasn't seemed to change. The smell is still hay like. I've started pouring the jars out into tubs to dry out better in front of a fan with the ac running in the room. If I tear open a bud it smells pretty pleasant on the inside but I just can't make it get back to the sweet smell it had while growing.

I jarred up another plant tonight, just a little clone I stuck in the dirt that I got from a clipping off another plant. I hung it up on the 17th. Dried for 5 days, has a crispy feel but the smell is amazing. Smells just like the plant did while growing. This plant was in the ground for about a week longer than the others.

If I let the hay like stuff sit out to dry more outside of the jars will it regain that great smell I'm looking for? Or is it a lost cause?

The hay smell is usually from being harvested way to early. Rot, mold and bugs ummmmmm you sure this stuff is even safe? I mean I would have just tossed her out. The temp was low humidity was high. What did they look like before you harvested?

I had worms. Very little rot, and very little mold. I cut all the bad stuff out, and left a good distance between the bad, and the stuff I kept. It had flowered for 60 days, all the trichs were cloudy. I wanted to go a week longer but couldn't risk it. It's definitely not hazardous, there's no mold in the jars. It looks very good and like I said, it has a good smell if I squeeze a bud and smell my finger, or tear open a bud. I think the moisture content is just too high still.

The little one I just took out of the drying room dealt with the same exact conditions and is perfect after 5 days.

The pictures I posted of the buds still growing were 3 days prior to harvest. The hairs had nearly fully turned Brown at that point. Outside of lacking the bit of amber on the trichs it was ready.
 
Takes longer than 9 days no matter what to see any type of change from curing .....I start my cure wetter than a lot of people basically when the outside of the bud starts feeling crisp and the stems brake/snap but do not brake in half ......further more pouring your buds out and running a fan in them isn't guna help anything especially if there already dry .....when you cure your pulling moisture out of the center of your buds ....they should feel wet when you open the container to burp .....I burp daily for the first week then I go every two days then next week every four days until eventually burping them once a week for two weeks then long term storage .....smell doesn't get super fruity or dank until at least 30 days or longer for me ......meaning the grass/fermenting smell disappears and the fruity skunk smells hit when opened ......GL
 
And that's basically a lot of what I've read. But yet the stuff I threw in jars tonight smells amazing prior to going in. Rather than having to work towards it in time.

Thank for the reply, I sweat cure all of mine, they go into jars wetter than most too. It also helps to hydrate bodevas lol.

The hay smell happens for a time. Usually though drying them out to fast or having a fan on them directly vs having air flow in the room will bring out the hay smell bad! Slow cures are the best.
Another way to get that smell back is not to wet trim. Just take off all the fan leaves and hang dry. Then as you want to smoke some, trim dry....and boom that wonderful sweet smell is back.
