Whats up everybody!! Ok so my buddy just found out that he has a huge infestation of spider mites. He has been treating them with a Habanero spray to kill them on contact, and then also sprays the crap out of the plants/room with neem oil, aswell as mixing some neem oil into his waterings. The directions on the Neem bottle said to mix 2 table spoons into the water and water them every 3-6 days. Today is the 4th day so theyre up for another watering to help to kill the residual mites, but some of the plants are beginning to get deficiencies because he has only been using Neem/water during this crazy eradication period. He's wanting to mix in his Normal Nutes into the water and my question is is it ok to Mix all of it into one watering? Like use his 1 gallon watering bucket and mix in the 2 tbl's of neem oil w/ the 1/2tsp of Nutes? is that ok to use Nutes with Neem at the same time? Or will the neem lock out the nutes, or magnify them or anything weird or will everything be alright?

Thanks!!

I would not mix nutes in with neem, what you should mix in is a dish detergent (non-antibacterial, mild soap, dawn works great!). The recommended ratio for making spray solution is: mix 1 teaspoon pure neem oil in a quart of warm water and 1/4 tsp. liquid dishwashing soap, shake it well to mix properly.

If you cannot make small batches, you can warm up some of the mixture at a later time as it will become like a floating gel in the water, although the soap helps with this.

Is your friend misting the plants and drenching the soil, if so I would alternate the neem with feedings. The ladies still need to make food.

I've never read a recipe that called for mixing neem oil with nutrients. I would think that if it was beneficial, companies would be incorporating it into their fertilizers from the start. I use the products separately, but your more then welcome to be the RIU guinea pig and report back.

both einstein and dyna grow have root zone application dosages on the bottle. you don't mix with nutes but i would use 1/2 of their recommendation. i used it for a aphid problem once. leaves yellowed on me but recovered. for spider mites you are better off following the foliar spray directions. spray the leaves, underneath the leaves, the stems and topsoil. don't use after week 2-3 of flower. leaves a residue on buds that tastes funny.
