Can you opt out of google earth?

first, I just have 10 plants. Big deal my neighbors all have 99.
But for my own sanity I attempted to opt out of google earth.
YOu can get off google streets but I have trouble.

I have a rather large property so a street view wont matter, I even have two addresses thats how large my place is.

Plus its rural, and my address is some what not showing in google maps.
But you can see my house and my plants.

Although im not worried because the police have done a compliance check every year to make sure my collective is 12 plants per person, and its 4 per person.

Im very modest, I have more tomatoes actually then anything.

But still I just hate google earth how can I just opt out?

Imagery sources
Google Earth is built from information that is available from a broad range of sources, including commercial and public sources. For example, this same information is available to anyone who flies over or drives by a piece of property.
Please note that as we acquire our data from third-party sources and aggregate the original images, we're unable to delete any aerial or satellite imagery on request.

Reporting a Street View image
Street View contains imagery of public property, which is no different than what you might see driving down the street. Imagery of this kind is available in a wide variety of formats for cities all around the world. That said, we understand that Street View imagery may contain objectionable content.

If you've found an image that you believe contains objectionable content, just follow these steps:

  1. Locate the image on Google Maps in Street View. Make sure that you see the exact image that you want to report.
  2. Click Report a problem in the bottom right of the image window.
  3. Complete the form entitled "Report Inappropriate Street View", and click Submit.
We'll review your report promptly.

Learn more about Street View privacy.

i don't really see how you can opt out of google earth.. like sunni pointed out, they've pretty much got you in the fact that everything they show is visible publicly, either by driving or flying by your property..
is it complete horse shit and an invasion of privacy imo, of course, but nothing is private in the modern world..

Well it's not third party like they say, but hey, that legal mumbo jumbo saves them.

Google has their own Satellites and rents others for their images.

Honestly Sunni. We've all got problems. You're the posterchild for "can dish it but can't take it." You are RUDE to everyone on here because of your moderator "status".

"Like...google that shit next time....took me 1.2 miliseconds"

Maybe OP wanted opinions from his peers instead of some blanket google statement. Maybe someone knows something you don't (or the generic internet post you quoted).

If you don't like a thread why can't you just butt out? I've said nothing "malicious" to you. Just pointing out you're a "pot/kettle" type.

You're young age and immaturity shine through constantly. If you're gonna act like a know-it-all constantly be prepared to be told you do NOT know it all.

You'll grow up one day. Like April told you one time. Lol.
With all due respect to everyone involved, it would have been better if everyone showed the respect they so think they deserve.
I don't know Sunni, so this is not in defense to anyone.
I just think rude people calling other people rude is stupid, and since everyone on this site is suppose to be 18 or older, it should be left alone after the first argument or disagreement.

That was rude of you.

From my understanding the Germans have made their laws so that one must opt in for google Earth Street view. I would much prefer that sort of outlook on the subject.

While I see this turning stray from the topic, I have a lot on my mind of the so called USA.
At times we've been in, from our own Gov killing us (9/11) and them slowly killing the constitution (Law makers & the 1%)
It seems the USA is going backwards, instead of forward as world power.

I would rather live in Iceland, Sweeden, Switzerland, or even Canada right about now.

Such a better approach to something like this. Should definitely be one's choice IMHO..... However I'm also addicted to using google earth for hiking, fishing, exploring. I guess it's just kinda weird the street aspect portion of RESIDENTIAL areas...or rural for that matter when peoples homes/privacy is concerned. Really what's the need for it?

Relative to the rest of the world, the US's power is diminishing. That was inevitable. Flashback to 1945, the US emerges from WWII with nearly undiminished work force, undamaged infrastructure, severely needy trading partners and a world full of low lying fruit. That couldn't last forever.

What I find unsettling is that this country seems to have little awareness on how invasive unfettered data collection by private business is. While other countries have moved to restrict it, we look at it as a right that businesses should have - part of the free market. That is so much bullshit.

I do not believe that businesses should be allowed to have access to our data without us being aware of it. I like the idea of making it about "opting in" rather than some nearly-impossible-to-find opt-out feature.

This made my gorge rise.

And when the sky is full of drones, this logic will be used in some interesting ways. For example, while the Google car was making passes in your neighborhood photographing your homes, they were also scanning and logging your wireless network and gaining access if there was no password. True story.

So will the Papa John's drone zipping past your window capture images? What will happen to them? "Google Homeview contains imagery which is no different than that which would be available if you stood on a ladder outside somebody's window without actually touching their property. Fuck you, we're Google".

If you seen this throwing the thread off topic why would you post it? Nothing worse than people hijacking threads when they can easily create a new one or post in a more appropriate thread....

a catch 22, to get a straight answer, you'd probably have to have an attorney submit request to their legal department before they would even consider it. Even then, without compelling reason it's doubtful. Compelling being national security. As far as I knew the only aerial photos blurred were as requested by .mil .gov etc.
