Can you put your flowering plant back into 12/12 after 72 hrs of darkness?

It’s all in the title. I’m having second thoughts of harvesting it, the buds look ready, just afraid the trich’s haven’t finished. They’re at day 74, C99 S1 from Duke. Goes 60-70

Can I see a pic? I just started some FDM C99 f4s, love the strain but never tried any S1s of it. It will be fine to put back in 12/12, and a smart move to get the most out of it-terps and yield wise. Forget those breeder dates and go by the signs of ripeness, hairs changing color and retracting, swelling of the seed bracts, and an overall change in color (rusty tinge) due to the trichomes becoming amber. I like to look for a final sag too in the last weeks, where strong branches suddenly fall over without support-you KNOW they are packing on weight at that point and want to leave alone to do their thing.

are there any good reasons to put your plant in the dark for some extended time? i was under the impression it caused ripening to go faster....maybe like dropping the light ot 11 or 10 hours per day? is this correct or does neither do anything?

If I may chime in Dank. I don't think it would hurt this late in the game. If you had a power failure for a few days darkness say week 5, then it may have adverse affects.

My last grow I took them out of the grow closet and left them in the room but not total darkness since some of the closet light illuminates the room a bit and it was one of my tastiest and potent-est grows. Not saying the 3 days did the trick, but it didn't hurt.

Nebula did a test and she's done a lot of other comparisons and side by sides. Her buds tested more THC after the dark period. And more

off topic, Her defoliation side by side also showed more THC and yield from the defoled plants, but that debate will never end.

No there isn't. Only reason to do this is to get flowering started

Hey y’all thanks for all of the help. I have had at least 4-5 yrs experience growing, but knowing when to pull has been the hardest. I think I have been pulling it too early

Hey y’all,

turned the lights back on last night, she definitely wasn’t ready. She has gotten frostier, and bigger, just no increase in smell. Trich’s are almost there
