I have some specific questions on cannabutter, and optimizing my process for max potency/extraction. I use a double boiler type method, with a pot and mason jar. butter in jar with herb then strain. i have been going low and slow, just below boil for 5-6 hours, stirring frequently. making brownies with the butter
1. I bought a new digital probe thermometer, what temp should i shoot for optimally for a low slow cook?
2. Do i need to decarb in oven before, will it affect potency of my butter/brownies?
3. How much THC is in the stems to extract, normally i save my stems to give to someone else who makes em into an alcohol tincture? should i start keeping them
i use at least at least 10g herb (usually half shake/half fine ground bud) to stick of butter going in. good ratio?
any other tips/advice questions are welcome.
