Ok so the second half of the weekend. I took the second hood from the veg room and hung it between the other 2 lights in the flower room! That commercial mover is a workhorse!
100_2257.jpgMan this is gonna be awesome!
100_2251.jpgBut wait, this ballast wont fire my 2 week old Ushio dual-arc, so I've got a brand new bulb that wont work in my 10 month old digital ballast. I am SO sick of this goddamn digitial ballast. Back to the store. Too bad I can't get frequent driver miles or something. lol
100_2266.jpgI picked up this EYE-Hortilux Super HPS. The guy said this is the most basic of HD bulbs so if this doesn't work I'll return the ballast to the store I don't go to anymore. The only reason I've been hesitant to return it is I know they are going to hook it up to a regular HPS bulb and tell me it works fine. It must be the way I look or somthing - It seems like they always have the attitude that I am trying to rip them off or something. Not my new store.

100_2269.jpgI said let there be light! This is pretty damn cool!

Whew, ok calming down....deep breath...They had a new issue of rosebud, about time!
100_2261.jpgThis is my least favorite of the three free, as I call them, Rosebud and Maximun Yeild and Urban Garden. I have learned much from theese free publications.

100_2268.jpgI finally moved the controler outside the flower room. This allowed me to realize that the dehumidifier was needlessly working during lights on. Gotta re-learn that observation is the cheapest and most powerful tool a grower can employ.

100_2271.jpg100_2270.jpgDeep Sweet Grapefruit from Dinafem. Lumens are awesome but I hate the orange/yellow color.

100_2267.jpgAnother pic of the golden bulb's performance.
100_2260.jpgWhile at the store I noticed theese new Co2 bags. I really like that they are natural and produce no heat. It says it will provide increased Co2 for 6 plants for 6 months. I got one to put in the veg room because the new 1000watt has raised the temps a bit, though not detrimentally, and I thought some extra Co2 would help them grow as well as not mind the heat so much. It was $28. I am thinking about putting 4 or 6 in the flower room and shutting down the Co2 generator. My Sentinel controller has a remote probe and I think it will reach my veg room so I'm going to get it from flower while the lights aren't on and monitor the veg room with it to see if that Co2 bag works. I'll report my findings.

Till next time, Peace!

I decided to start a couple seeds of Wonder Woman from Nirvana.
100_2277.jpgI've heard good things about this strain.100_2283.jpgBabies on the bottom.
100_2276.jpg2 Kiwiskunks. Probably about 6-7 ounces.

100_2281.jpgThis is Chrystal from Nirvana. I have not flowered this yet but will soon. I'm trying a new trellising method with this one. She has a sister that I will trellis like I normally do.

I got it at the grow shop. They're new so you might have to ask for it. I'm thinking about getting like 6 for my flower room and shutting down the Co2 generator, at least for summer. That would also tell me if they are worth a shit.

I think its some kind of mycillium bacteria or something though I'm not sure. If you go to their website it doesn't really say much. I know they already have the Co2 bucket thing but that thing is like $120, only lasts 3 months and would only really work for very specific situations. I thought theese were cool cause for $30 it's supposed to last 6 months and feed Co2 to up to 6 plants, so I figure I'll start buying them as I have the money and putting them in the flower room. By summer I should not need the Co2 generator anymore. We'll see what the Co2 monitor shows as far as how effective they are. I'll report my findings.

Good evening fellow members!

Tonight we harvested Deep Sweet Grapefruit. It was a UFO from Attitude from Dinafem Seeds. Sure seems like whenever I grow UFO seeds they are awesome!

She was 57 days into flower and looked pretty ready to me. I flushed her with 5 gallons of plain RO water a week ago and fed her a couple times with 1/3 strength nutrient solution.

I think this strain is a keeper!

LOL okay UFO ! So from dinafem , I had some grapefruit before and it was very good . I noticed you had that much amber at day 57? How many days is the strain listed for ? I ask because I had trouble with slow finishing.I thought it was low temps but I got that fixed and still finishing slow . Is that just a fast strain or do you think your 1000w lights affects finishing ? I'm a 250w guy .

Actually it had very few amber trics. I never went back to check the website about a finish time because I got tired of even trying to work with those recomended times. I usually start 2 feminised seeds whenever I start a new strain and it seems that even if the finish time is close to the recomendation I end up with 2 different phenotypes of the same strain which leaves me to try and figure it out anyway.

I'm not sure about the slow finishers. Awhile back I started 2 Magic Bud seeds from Paradise Seeds. As they grew very differently one was awesome! It was finished at day 47 and was great smoke, very white looking tight buds. Her sister grew huge pine cone sized buds but they were kinda airy and never showed amber. I finally harvested her around day 70 and it had the Magic Bud flavor but not the bang everyone is after.

Now several months into the new flavor I think I've figured it out. When I send 2 plants into flower I get 2 clones from each for a total of 4 clones. I never kept track of which was which because I foolishly assumed that if I got seeds from a professional breeder that they would be awesome and uniform. I had forgotten the basic rule of start a bunch and grow it out and pick the best to mother the next round. That is very hard to do and stay within the stupid limits they want me to stay within. So now I will always identify the different clones and make sure I keep one of each until it is grown out and I can see if they are the same or if one is better. Man that takes a LOOOONG time!
