CFL and Heat?

This has probably been brought up before, but I just don't have the time to search through all the threads.

I have a low budget and most of the supplies ready, but my main problem is that my grow area never gets above 65 degrees Farenhieght during the day and in the summer. I know thats too low but I can't really afford a heater or a HPS. So my question is can CFL's produce enough heat while operating to keep the air warm enough for the plants during the light cycle? I know when winter comes around I'll have to do something else, but thats a while away.

My grow box is made of reflective insulation about 1" thick. I planned on having ~4-43watt cfl's for 4 plants in a StinkBud-esk grow. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

its possible, plug the lights in befor you get the plants going. just turn em on in teh box and check it in 5-6 hours and see how warm it is.
my basement was about 55-60 and 13x 23W cfls kept em good and warm. there werent in a grow box tho, so urs should get warm easier.

If you can afford to grow than you can afford a $70 HPS from htgsupply.com but CFL's do make enough heat.

Plant away, you'll be fine, put a small fan blowing slowly directly onto the bulbs "from the floor" and set the plant containers on top of something to keep the off the floor. The insulation boarding will retain most of the heat and the small fan will circulate the heat amoung the plants.

Look into this if price is an object:
Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs

Thanks for all the responses guys/gals. My grow area will end up being approximately: 2.5 ft wide, 2 ft deep, and 6.5 ft high. So I will have about 3-4 ft of upward growing area. All in all: 32.5 cubic ft.

That ceramic looks sweet, but I already got a plan and is in motion, so I will follow through with it. This is only my second grow, the first in utter failure. It was due to no knowledge or research. Now 6-months of research and the plan is knocking on the door, everythings coming to fruition as far as planning is going. Hopefully by the time Whitetail Deer season is here, it'll be ready. That would be nice!!!
