if you bought your cfl at home depot then there the n:vision brand you want the daylight if you look on your package in the upper right it will show what spectrum is the daylight is blue and if you look on the back it will tell you the color temp which is 5500k on the hundred watt ones

Ya know its been so long, i bought a shit load of lights and havent restocked in a while. i know for sure the tubes use the same names(daylight, coolwhite, warmlight) and they list the color temp. on the packigin you could just check the tubes that are the same as your spirals and delima solved. I prefer a mix of both colors during both phases of growth.

but I agree, the cfls can be a pain in the but to figure out with all the different names and stuff. Ive seen alot of people use those for vegging but I would get some really good tubes for flowering. the red grow bulbs are pricy but well worth it when mixed with some daylight tubes as well. The tubes list the lumens and color temp making it easier to decide, plus you get more light than the spirals, of course with proper shop light reflectors you can inprove that.....good luck,

im teachin my wife to care for while i go over to iraq ,some plants ive just started germinating.im gonna grow three just to get her exspierienced.i want to start her small and easy but really dont know how to do the small grow op thing i like to take up space, its easier for me....but she always has girlfriends over i dont trust them.the space she wants to use is 19 inches tall 28 inches wide and 14 inches deep.what amount of cfls should i use. veg with the spirals maybe 4 30w 6500k?and for flowering just add a couple23w at5500?or what? when i get back were gonna use some of my gov funds to buy some metal halides but i want her to know what the fuck shes doin before that.

man i read this thread and some of you people would confuse the hell out of a noob if they read this thread seriously

Gotta leave it to the pros :)

Blue Spectrum - "Daylight" - 6500K = Veg Stage

Red Spectrum - "Soft White" - 2700K = Flowering Stage

Full Spectrum - "Daylight" - 4000K/5000K = Good for both stages

In all honesty best results would be to over power one spectrum but still have both kinds there i.e 4 daylights and 2 soft whites kinda helps equal itself out and then reverse when its in the next stage

Ive personally grown 10 plants using the method above in my closet and have yielded close to an oz per plant (dried)
