Hey RIU,

Decided it's time to start growing. As a first time trial run there will be two plants. My cousin and I will each have our own plant. We've both been researching for months now and we both have our own plans for how to grow. We'll be comparing notes and hopefully perfecting a technique. May as well do this shit right.

I will be posting weekly pictures on progress. Also, I'll explain setup as the pictures arrive. First pics when we plant!

The update so far: Germed the seeds (from attitude) in a plastic bag and paper towel yesterday. This morning both seeds are cracked and have little pokey things. I've assumed this is awesome and put them back for awhile until those get bigger.

With luck in a couple months we'll have a smoke report for you!

You've picked a pretty good auto to grow IMO. I'm on my 2nd lr2 grow also. My first grow produced a male that wasn't caught quick enough therefore I got some seeds from one of my plants so I am now growing those seeds. My 1st grow produced some badass bud and I found that a 60-65 day harvest was perfect for the type buzz I like....I delayed harvest on one to see what the diff would be and it was much more couchlock. The earlier harvest had a "zoom" factor that I prefer.
This time around I have 8 fems....3 hardy with 5 being runts.......quickly moved a male early but harvested his pollin so I could selectively produce more seeds. I've just finisheed another grow room just so I can grow "regular" along with autos.
My current lr2 grow is at 30 days with prolific budding even on the runts. Good luck and keep us posted!

Alright guys, sorry for the wait. School and the bong have kept me pretty busy.

Long story short, I hate dirt.

Long story:

So we sprouted the first two seeds and they're coming along nicely. I've got pics of "my" plant below. My set up is pretty chincy but my cousin's box is nicely set up with an erector set light holder that's pretty neato.

I'll be moving my pot to his box in order for the next phase! I'm starting two more seeds in hempy cups filled with 100% perlite with a 2 in res at the bottom. I'm following guides I've found on this site and others. PM me for links or do a quick google search.

They're about 5 days since germ and all looks to be pretty good. I'll try to get more pics posted as we go along and it should only be another day or two before I can show you the hempy set up.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Just trying to do these grows as similar to other guides as possible. One caveat is we're letting one of the potted plants do it's own thing. No nutes, no TLC, no nursing back to health. This is our control plant because we're nerdy and want comparisons.

P.S. Anyone topped low ryder 2 before?

hey ransom,

don't top an auto. it will just set it back because they flower by age not photoperiod. if you top it it will have to re grow and will start off with 3 point leaves instead of the mature 7. i would just recomend lst.

peace dude

Thanks for the tip crazy. Makes complete sense :P It's sometimes difficult to differentiate tricks that work on normal plants vs autoflowers and i've got a lot to learn!

So I was really pissed off at my old setup and temps were all over the charts. Thus anger bred creativity.

This morning I felt ambitious (and I wanted to avoid calc homework) so I put together this out of an old computer case I had laying around.

Temps (so far) are much more stable and there is a whole lot less light pollution in the rest of my room.

One more question: Can I leave my autoflowers in 24 hour light or should I give them darkness? I've heard it both ways. I've got a timer so it's not a big deal but my temps are much more stable with the lights on.

Thanks!

I've been doing 20/4 on my lowryders. !st grow was 24/0. Again, autos do not respond to photoperiods, they are gonna flower and finish by the clock....yeild may be affected if you lessen the light to below 20 on.....
Perhaps the thread "Autoflower Resource Guide" would be a good read.
Some people always have a different idea....just say "do you have proven data to back that up"....
Have fun and feed your autos light, light , light.....very little attention...

yo ransom,

i would leave the lights on 24-0 or 20-4 for the first week then move to either 20/4 or 18/6 for the rest of its life. good luck with that lil lady. hit meup if ya need any help. and fuck calc lol i had to take that class twice.

peace

Haha thanks for the info guys. Moving my lights to 24/0 for awhile to see how that goes. temps will at least be more stable :)

Will post more pics when something changes, so far just a tiny bit of growth. I think I may have stunted her.

Pics of my cousin's plant soon

Hey guys. It's officially day 7 for our soil plants. We've move both plants into my cousin's box so that I can focus on the 2 hempy's!!

We started the seeds in jiffy starter things and so far all is good but no sprouts yet. The tap root is out though :)

Didn't even notice the ladybug until I took the pics :P

My cousin's plant looks pretty gnarly but more lush than mine. Mine finally has a 2nd set of leaves forming.

I'll be documenting the hempy's too but might not post a journal full scale. I'll definitely keep you guys updated here on their status.

Yeah, my first lowryder 2 grow gave me some nice, although small, nugs that definitely had a different, exotic flavor....everybody noticed it....and the high was "soaring" with "lostness"....i harvested 2 at 60-65 days and 2 at 70-75 days. I preferred the high of the earlier ones......plus, they taste great right after drying and cure makes'em even better. Good luck with your grow and harvest. Don't overwater.....or nute ....for a couple of weeks....they do stay small for a while then suddenly begin growing furiously.....great to watch....just don't "touch" much....

got it man! i won't mess with them too much at all, my plan is that they will sprout and pop through the peet pots, a short time after that they will go to live in 1.5 gallon buckets in fox farms ocean forest soil, probably won't even give any extra nutes or anything, i was thinking since they are so quick that what is already in the fox farms soil will be more than adequate, can't wait till they pop!

hmmm, well if i get 2 females, i'll try one at 60-65 and another at 70-75 days, i'm really curious to compare =)

Oh yeah, I totally encourage you to wholeheartedly enjoy your autos for all they are worth. I actually grew my first in miracle grow ! All my smokin' friends commented on the flavor of lr2 and I am still enjoying it's excellent high. BTW, you will find trimming to be easy cause you really want to save the trim and dry ....the finer leaves in the buds, if you're a tric watcher, you'll see why....only discard the fan leaves.
As a matter of fact, the fine trim is my daily stuff......the little stash of nugs is for tha' PARTY . Enjoy. I have 3 lr2 at 7 days and 3 more that just broke soil.

Sorry for the long update delays. Both hempy plants are starting out nicely. Tall and robust already. Both potted plants are getting bulkier as more nodes pop out. I'll have pics up in the next day or two. It's a legal grow but only under certain conditions so we've got to figure a new place/setup but hopefully a little more permanent.

Started 1/4 strength nutes on potted plants and they seem to like it.

Edit: 1/4 strength not 1.4

Hey ransom, the plants looks great. I've got a Lowryder #2 that has just sprouted, and I also have an Easy Ryder 2 weeks 'till harvest. These autoflowering strains are so interesting.
Scribed.
