CFL two 26 watts (Equivilant to 210watts)

I got 2 CFLs both 26 watts and it says equivilant too 210 watts (105 watts each)

Will these be enough to grow plants indoors?

Ive got them in a 20 gallon fishtank with tin foil wraped everywhere on the inside and black plastic on the outside To keep the light from going in.

The foil reflects every bit of light so i would think they would be enough for just two plants.

Now, i know this is not the best way to grow them, im just wanting to know if it WILL grow them.

Thanks.

foil isnt the best could create focus points and burn spots on the plants. as far as the cfls they may be useful for the first few weeks but id say u would need 3 or 4 more of those same bulbs, to create any thing decent. do u plan to go SCROG with these 2 plants"knowing that a 10gal tank isnt vary tall." would really consider SCROG. plenty of useful info here in FAQ on SCROG. good luck

80-85 im pretty sure is alright dont let it get higher than that it will skyrocket with the additional bulbs try rigging yourself a fan blowing on the lights or down n to the tank. not sure on the humidity also. dont want to miss lead any one. im sure there will be some one thatll jump on thatll have the answer if not do some reading. try looking n FAQ

check this out
https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/22828-diy-cfl-fixture-pics.html
i saw this last night and today i went out and bought everything for it. I couldn't find the light fixture at my local walmart but that was easily found at home depot. The particular fixture i found was similar and had a maximum watt rating of 100w per bulb which of course meant 50w per bulb with the y-adapter. I bought bulbs at Walmart (stupid) which resulted in me having a limited selection of wattages and package sizes with virtually none of them describing the temperature (color) of the light emitted. So i settled with a 4 pack of 23w 'daytime' cfls and 2 43w 'daytime' cfl. I read somewhere that the daytime ones are close to the flowering range produced by hps lams, but i may have that mixed up. What i should have done was bought them at lowes, although slightly pricier, i would have enjoyed a wider selection and probably would have had some 'cool blue' or similar light (MH spectrum) in my fixture as well.
Anyways i think i'm gonna order a 6-pack (which is SOOO convenient for me ) from an online bulb site and get some 70+ double or triple CFLs and stick those in. I read that it doesn't really matter that the fixture is only rated 100w a socket because it's only cause of the heat which the fact that they are y-sockets keeping them away and that they are CFL which produce less heat, but i could be fatally wrong someone correct me if i am.

Anyways stick some of those in there or mix and match with some high wattage CFLs in other spectrum and then you're gonna be cookin with gas. Imo you could do a pretty wicked scrog with the fluorescent lights cause you can keep them nice and close on a level canopy of colas ...(mmmmm :blsmoke:)
so check out my fixture. my growing in a small cubby space may be temporary, or is it?

Very nice, here are some pics of my setup, i got rid of the fish tank and went with something bigger, broke on of my big bulbs in the proccess, so ive got two 26 watt CFL and two 15 watt ones.

Still have a socket for another bulb, will propabally buy 3 more 26 watt CFL's which will equal 5 26watt CFL's, plus two 15 watt ones.

What i keep em in:

I plan on painting the inside solid white and adding an auto water system soon.

Btw this is all in my closet xD

I plan on adding a wall in the middle of the closet and having a veg room and flower room, but i gotta save some money before that :)

I'm no expert by any means but you gotta get those lights closer, both of you. adamizer you have some serious stretching going on. CFL's should be kept as close as possible without burn the plants.

Really? Cause I was concerned that the yellowing on my leaves was light burn, although until i built this i was using a desk lamp floro and a desk halogen (which was hot!) and i think that might have caused it. To solve this problem today i am building a reflector out of cardboard and mylar (it might look pretty shotty lol), line the inside of my little cubby out of mylar, and put a little fan in there to keep it nice and cool. First day in the cubby with the bigger cfls resulted in some wilting. Pictures will be up soon. I was thinking when i sex them i'll transplant all the females into bigger pots and go with a scrog.
