Also if following laws of osmosis. If our rootball contains much higher amounts of salts than our plants.
Then it means the soil is actually drawing moisture from the plant itself.

Salty media sucks every little bit of good there is from a plant @Yam.

Water is the molecule for life as we know it.
Don't starve your plant of water.

You don't have a cal mag problem.

You have nutrient burn. You've burnt them slap to hell with too much nutrients. Soil grows really don't require that many nutrients, especially in the beginning. Only in the later stages where you're watering every other day to ever day do you really need to start stepping up the nutrients a bit.

No further damage since the fluah.. It may have been burn.. but I thinking from build up and not properly leaching the remaining salts from each feed. Bc all my other plants are perfectly fine. I feed them all the same. I just got lazy and didn't get enough runoff. And also my ph was a bit low when the problem started which didn't help

I'll bet you if you fed em all lighter, the others would be just as happy and this one would be right with em...

I love the salt analogy... I've used the vitamin analogy: Folks need to realize that nutes really aren't its food, light is... Nutes are more like vitamins.... If you take one "One A Day" vitamin its probably good for you... Taking 8 probably isn't any healthier for you and probably somewhat not great for you... Just like nutes.

Another good comparison is Tomatoes... Tomatoes are another high energy plant like cannabis but you wouldn't ever "feed" your tomatoes heavily concentrated nutes every single feeding...

You mean = If our soil contains much higher amounts of salts than our plants.

because

I've done this in hydro a couple of times [actually a bunch of times} and have actually seen my plants get smaller. Or they just dont move. By having way way to high of a ppm in my rez

I am asking cuz the rootball is part of the plant.

Agreed,

Its happened to me too. Dry, slumping, droopy plants.
The old "looks really thirsty, but only just watered" scenario. Rot soon follows.
Root rot looks almost identical too.

They both restrict osmosis inside the plant.
Osmosis is what makes a plant stand up tall, and straight.
Its an electrical current doing this. (ec's)
Water conducts electricity.
Heat evaporates water.(evaporation, through plant stomata).

Its all systematic.

I water pretty frequently... more now since I'm in flower with about 2 weeks to go on my white widow. I'm so proud of her. No problems from start to finish. She's really packing in the crystals now. I was expecting more from my Dark Angel since she's more sativa.. Hoping she will finish out at least. But I def don't underwater.

Ya I think when I grow this strain again I will feed a little less..

Update... I flushed her with a good ph then added 3/4 strength nutes. She got plain water with microbes and molasses the previous watering so it was time for a feed. She’s only getting maybe one more feeding after this since she’s about 3 weeks out from harvest.

But she is pulling through. No new damage. I’ll post pics tonight. I also have a WW that is about 2 weeks out so I want to see what you guys think bout it

If you flush you should renute AND add microbes back in if you didnt

She got plain water with microbes and molasses ===this a good combo for the last leg since the plant will stop feeding the microbes but the molasses will and the microbes will keep feeding the plant. then just plain water the last ten days or so

I realize how much work goes into growing from this experience.. it’s worth it but.. I don’t think I’ll be doing small or micro grows anymore. Maybe a plant or two but if I’m going to grow I feel like I should grow some bigger pants. I’m going to grow the same strains I did this time next but outside grow minus the white widow. Think I’ll stick to the sour diesel haze and dark angel even tho the ww was the healthiest and best genetics I had.. the other are bigger yielder and also more Sativa like growth

That's the entire point: If you're feeding properly, you don't get salt buildup. That only occurs when you overfeed. That's what creates the entire problem.

You act like your doing a hydroponics grow but you're growing in soil. That many nutrients that often is just completely unnecessary.

I only water every 5 days... water feed water feed is what they all say to do.. in fact some would water feed feed water feed feed.. like I said I’ve only had a problem with one plant ( one strain)
