Chop day dilemma. What would you do?

Day 68F of time bandit by Bodhi.

Leaving for a trip in 8 days. Would have to chop in 3 to dry in time. Trichs are about 50/50 clear and white. No real amber yet.

I get back from my trip 12/27, so in 20 days. Would you chop in 3 or 20? I usually go for about 30% amber, but I feel like it might be way past that in 20 days. What would you do?

I would chop the last day you home. Let it hang dry while you gone. Make sure your controller is setup for wifi and monitor your humidity.

I leave the 15th. Gone for 12 days. Radiators on at my place and no way to turn it off. I have a humidifier but it'll empty way before I get back. Worried if I leave it that long it'll be dried to a crisp

If you can keep the plant watered-feed while your gone i would let it rip it will be killer by the time you get back. But seeing your worried about a humidifer running out you dont have much choice but to harvest before leaving.

You can set up one of those auto watering wick DIY buckets. It wouldn't dry to a crisp even if you watered it once before you left, turn your light hours down to 8 hrs a day or even leave em in the dark possibly.

I see a lot of dead plant material, but I don't spot any bud rot. Its probably in there, if RH was high while you were gone.

Looks like you will end up with some decent bud though. Congrats!
If it’s in there, won’t it spread if I chop + dry? I lost my last batch to bud rot. Really don’t want a repeat of that

Just found clear rot on one of the tops. Gonna try to toss the top half of the plant and see if the bottom half has anything worth salvaging. I’m gutted. This was my only plant and a few months of work.

Sorry to hear that, friend. Live and learn. Its why is suggested early on to harvest the tops before leaving on your trip. They are the most susceptible to bud rot.
