That’s about 6 miles a kWh! If the Aptera craps out, that’s a good plan B. I should be able to do most of my driving without supplemental line electricity!
I can’t get over the covered rear wheels, reminds me of old ugly Citroëns. It’s accelerates slow too, especially for an EV. Apart from that it does look promising. The tech that is. 4 motors, 1 per wheel, no gearbox, no driveshafts, most aerodynamic production car (lowest drag coefficient), frugal reuse of heat, aluminium and carbon fiber to reduce weight, it’s certainly a lot more than a typical ev with solar panels as a gimmick.

I sorta like the DS. Funky.

i don't think it looks too bad

I think it fits better in the US than here. It's long, would barely fit my garage, and driving and parking in the old city centers here would be a pita. It's been tested in south of Spain (which is like our Florida, where people go to retire in the sun) where someone with a short-medium commute would have to charge it only once a month. Aside from saving money, that sounds very convenient.

I like that it has a front intake. Teslas have that deliberately malformed “face”.

Lol... well that's something I'll never unsee.

We call it a 'pike'. I don't know, maybe I'm biased, it was a target of public ridicule. Only people with goat wool socks and sandals drove them (that's the christian teacher/doctor look). Hated the bx too. A new one drove pretty well but rusty af and that rear wheel cover... I just can't.

That Lightyear One looks very similar to an Audi A7 if you change a bit of the paint on the back end. It has some semblance to the Porsche Panamera, minus the iconic front end. I'm assuming the rear wheel cover is needed for aerodynamics? I think the actual lines of the car are fantastic, although not a huge fan of the black front spoiler and side skirts, but that's easily changed. One of the best EV designs that I've seen.

Yes. Don’t know how much it contributes but it’s tested with and without:

A7 indeed. Big one, clumsy, I‘m more a Q2 kinda guy. The pics above are all lightyear.0, the lightyear 2, although very similar, actually doesn’t seem to have the rear wheel covers but instead addresses the front and back with more closed caps.

the Qs, and the entire crossover genre, repel me. Not terrain capable, neither as efficient nor as economical as sedans … no me gusta.

Honda has earned my wrath: they’re ditching their econo hatchbacks in USA bacause they make more money selling tiny trucks.

another red state f*cked around and found out........climate change is real
A suburb in Arizona lost its source of water. Residents warn: We're only the beginning
Reading about the attitude lots of people still have shows how far we as a civilization have to go before this will get figured out. How does Arizona allow alfalfa farms in the state? I'm all for farming, but in a sustainable manner and what is sustainable is changing. How California allows any "fresh" water to drain out to the ocean has me gobsmacked. Need to revisit the basics of the three R's for crying out loud.

We do it to keep California's salmon fishing industry alive.....not to mention keeping the ancient salmon runs alive. I love wild caught salmon

how long are we going to let them run their mouths?
it's way past time to pull the teeth out of that paper tiger's skull, with a pair of rusty pliers. And a hammer.
until they do something really stupid.

For now, there is no compelling reason for Nato to do more than give Ukraine life support. But should Russian command use the wrong weapon or strike the wrong extranational target, then probably.
