Cloning Marijuana Plant With Preflowers?

Hello everyone, my big girl outdoors was snapped by the wind and she is making a poor recovery and i'm afraid she may not bounce back though i continue to nurse her.

Anyways, I took what looked best from the mother but she was preflowering. Will I still be able to clone?

Cloning about 3 weeks into flowering is called Monster Cropping, google it.

Sure. If it's partly transitioned to flowering it may go through a short reveg period but you can clone it as long as it has green leaves (that includes buds...). Give it 24hrs per day light and it will keep, or in worst case return to, vegging.

How much light would you say is required? I'm using a CFL bulb right now thats only 15w. I have the cuttings in water with willow water (natural rooting hormone) I'm letting them sit in the dark and tomorrow I will turn on the light and start 24 hours.

I have cloned plants with buds the size of the " average thumb / finger. " I did not remove the buds when i did it, because I wasn't sure what to do, and they made it out great! However, from what i have learned since then is, you should clip off as much of the bud as you can. I will try this theory and see how it goes at the end of this season.

I wouldn't clip off too much of the bud. I've noticed declined rooting rates just by clipping a healthy bud before cloning. The bud has stored nutrients the cutting can use.

Monster cropping is awesome. Takes a little longer to root but its well worth it.

I'm going to look into some monster cropping techniques. As for the dying mother here she is before and after.... the poor lady.

Do you think she has any chances of bouncing back? I pruned any dead leaves and branches so she really only has two main tops now.

I like the sound of that. I remember how deformed the plants looked in the beginning, but as they grew up, the better they looked. I remember them looking like miniature versions of their counterparts. To bad i over fertilized them and they all died... lol

Actually, I just had to take cuts off newly flowering plants because my moms had issues. It is a long and delicate beginning but I see potential for some fattness

cloning whilst in flower does take a little longer i have found ... but the end result is nice..... i would keep the mother going , they are a strong plant they can survive most things ...

Looks like no problem. I've cloned little sucker branches off a plant at least a month into flowering, Doing some heaving trimming and kinda felt bad tossing all the sucker branches and bud into the garbage. Ran lights at 24/0 with nothing special other than a little rooting gel and them stuck into a rockwool cube. IT took awhile but I got me some roots, & totally usable clones. Never got around to using them tho' I had some clones that were more established and had better vigor.

I'm prolly gonna have to do this with a c99 at least a month into flower, The smell from one of them is incredible!. Somehow I didn't get a clipping off of her before I sent it to the bloom room.

Yeah, I think she will survive, I had to do some scrog training, and I ended up snapping some stems, As long as the stem is immobile, from the tape a nice big knot will form at the damage, and takes about a week.
