CLONING WITH ALPHA(2 days is the goal)

the problem with running a pump 24/7 in a cooler especially (since they'll hold heat) leads to heat, this isn't a real big issue as long as it doesn't get too hot. cloning temps are from like 72-82 F and although it may get a little hotter than that in an insulated cooler I don't really know. I cycle my misters like 1 on 3-4 off. I dunno what alpha does. I'd like some more details on his process , he doesn't seem to monitor things continously , I do so I'll give his method a go. I think my problem this time was too low temps although I kept them at 72. I increased that to 76 and now I'm seeing roots finally.

24 hours on first night 18 hours every night after that. pump on constantly wont hurt anything just when you do get roots its time to transfer or they wont grow much.

cooler would be fine might not need a submersible heater or heating pad remember to get a floating thermometer for like 2 bucks a walmart.

Ok cool, so if I run the pump 15 on and 15 off then it shouldn't hurt anything? The only cycle timers I can find cost around $75 and I don't see myself buying one for that much, unless I was rolling in the doe, which I'm not lol. I need to get one set up soon so I can have one that actually works without leaking. Do you all use just neoprene disks or do you use rockwool? I have always used rockwool, but it seems to me that everyone who has great success uses just the neoprene disks. If that is the case, when you use neoprene, and you get roots, what do you plant them in?

dirt jk. but really any media is fine since im having trouble emailing myself my pics im gonna actually try to get these pics up some are of day 5 and today is day 6 i have some rootlets and callusus i should be posting some clones with roots soon. i have anothe rpicture of a clone i took 2 weeks ago from a flowering plant when i took it out of the clone machine i planted it in pure wormcastings and it has reverted back to the veg stage faster than any of my other monster crops b4 it.

also i have been running the uvb db if your out there how close did you put yours? im definatley getting stronger smell but i think its burning some of the leaves and some of my pistles have turned brown also i moved it back its at the same height as my other lights now but im just wondering how close is too close?

and for any body whose interested i will post my the bottle of colliodal silver i got at the nutrition store and the plant im trying to hermie.(i had to buy another one for the one i broke luckily i went to another store and they had it for cheaper, a smaller bottle, and a higher ppm count (30)) i think you can order this brand online and its pretty cheap let me know if you guys are interested.

15 on 15 off wont hurt a thing might slow things down tho

Alpha, lmao, that was a good one. But the reason I asked is because I usually use rockwool, and I don't see being able to put the clone into a rockwool cube without breaking off the newly developed roots. I'm a hydro guy, new to the scene though, and I have better success in hydro than soil. So if I were to take clones, put them in the neoprene discs, which it seems like you get better results, how would I go about staying hydro? Would I just keep using neoprene discs for the rest of the grow and skip the rockwool and hydroton? I have 4 DWC 5 gallon bubble buckets.

Yo you can make your own colloidal silver for real cheap man. but then you probably already know that.

split the rock wool in half and gently place it in there i use rockwool too. got a whole slab of it i use it for my seedlings and sometimes my clones if im fucking around with a hydro system. i was messn around with dwc got some good results but ive tailor made my soil to my nutes and i can get the same results i swear. all organic compost teas with a low nutrient content soil basically soil less you can get the same results as hydro not aero but hydro. i was thinking of combing my system with ebb and flow hydroponics(wont clog up with the tea) probably be the fastest next to aero.

the clone as you will see is 10 day old from a flowering mother all the dates are the day i plant i soil. thats fast to revert into veg trust me never been less than month. its the microbes but i dont use anything organic till my clones are rooted the rooting process can get too funky with organics.

clones have not been happy with the night temps but i dont want to turn up my heating pad cause if i forget to turn it down it would fry my clones.

yeah i know. i dont have access to silver. plus it comes in a spray bottle fairly priced for 1oz for 10$ and 4oz for 15 8oz for 20$ its a THROAT SPRAY lol.
oh and as far as breaking roots it happens just try as hard as possible not to.

about the UV, I ran the tube like 18 inches above one section of the room and really didn't notice a difference, I just bought a led with UV and IR, I just found the IR is for mold and mildew prevention, was wondering about that, I can understand the UV, dunno why they add it to the led but I do know weed produced trichomes for several reasons but the main one being to protect the plant from uv . so in my mind it works but I can't say either way without a very controlled situation and lab testing of the weed afterwards, I'm just not that into it but I did spend a bill adding UV so I'll use it and add more if I see results.

im just using 50w uvb. i can def. see that its giving them a suntan yeah mines at about the same height 18in so im gonna leave i can definatly smell the difference but i cant see it yet. the ones im testing on are only 4 weeks in so i dont think i will really know for about 2 more weeks. i have flowered this ww before and they were pretty fuckin frosty but i think i will be able to tell if there is any more than there would be normaly.

oh and i just realized you where talking about IR. my bad no that should be good for the plants full spectrum is full spectrum. the plants use it to metabolize hps gives out a bunch of IR thus why people concern with heat so much. IR is good for a lot of things definatley use it keep an eye out for burning leaves especially with led

hell its only got one 3 watt ir and one 3 watt uv diodes. I really don't even know why they bothered but all the high end ones include at least UV.

thus why i dont mess with led's. when they come out with a 1000w panel or a 1500w panel at around 400$-500$ im hopping on that train lol

550 bux just bought me a blackstar 500. I'll be adding a couple more for summer use, can't pay to cool a room with a hot light.
Reasonable price, I'll buy at least one more unless some new tech comes out, they're doing 10 band now with varying focusing.

Just finished my bucket. I'll take pics and post later. Funny thing is that those clones I said I took about 3 or more weeks ago that hasn't gotten any roots. The other day when I checked them they still didn't have anything. Today after I finished my bucket, I went to take the pump from my tote that those clones were in and low and behold, roots sprouted within two days, and they are about 3 inches long. So now I have two clones that have taken root and a better, leak proof cloner for future use. I also picked up some neoprene disks, two in net pots, hormex, and dip n grow.

you are on your way to being a clone master tonight i actually pulling my clones out its day 7 they aren't really finished but i need to get some other clones going these ones werent supposed to be my next group but it actually worked out (they only have small roots maybe a quarter inch they will finish up fine in soil at this point). im gonna post cloning with rockwool next and do like 3 more in my aerocloner with my other widow strain and my purple strain i just found out was a female. also i will put one of the finished clones in rockwool to show that this is the perfect time to make the switch into rockwool for hydro. i love cloning with rockwool also you can get some fast results this way too. yeah totes suck that was what i did the first time.

post pics on a bit.

okay srry i didnt put these up yesterday. these are my clones day 7. the 3rd one is the one in the rockwool i will let it finish rooting in the rockwool this is the best time to make that switch. while roots are still small.
clones day 7.jpgView attachment 2069007View attachment 2069009clone day 7.jpgView attachment 2069011

now on to cloning with rock wool. first get you supplies. then sterilize everything in a mixture of water and alcohol. this is the mother i will be using.(one clone will be a purple that i just found out was female)
View attachment 2069021View attachment 2069022View attachment 2069034

then rinse the rockwool alow it to dry somewhat then soak in lemon juice and water pHed to 5.6(ph doesnt swing as much during the rockwool process so a ph all the way up to 6.0 should be fine) for about an hour.
View attachment 2069024View attachment 2069035View attachment 2069036

get your tray ready i like to put rocks in mine bcuz it helps keep the water warm and holds the cubes in place.(also added .25 ml of superthrive to about 8oz water in the tray) take your cutting as you can see i used a powder this time i find powdered mixes do better in solid media cloning.put it in the rockwool if the stem is not strong enough to push into rockwool take a corner off and stuff the piece in the hole with the stem.
View attachment 2069037View attachment 2069041View attachment 2069044
these are the clones i will check back on these in a few days best not to disturb rooting process in these. often its just better to forget about them and just keep them watered. and sometimes i will add air stone to the tray to help speed thing up. but im not in a hurry so i probably wont.
