Ok so here are the latest changes from suggestions that you all made to me.

1) I took the exhaust fan tube to the attic. this moved it to in front of the door. this gives me back my mylar wall.

2) Raised my tank to allow the valve that I have for empting the res an easier pour.

3) I put in the 4 t5 65k tubesthat I originally started with.

I figure that this should give me 296w of light. I'm maintaining a good temp. and the system is also quiet. Thank you to each of you that sugested ways of making this possible. Now for getting some good seeds...:weed:

jjmd, Glad you are working the bugs out of the system :-) You are almost there, it can take months to get a cabinet fully tuned in. Don't worry about the glass heat screen, I've seen light meter tests on these and once you take into account how close you can get to the glass you can't lose. After running 3 to 4 grows per year for the last 12 years I can tell you that using this method its possible to achieve HPS quality buds with CFL's as time will prove to you. A small fan blowing 'through' the bulbs towards the exhaust means you can have the bulbs resting directly on the glass as I do now. Anyway, those temps are good. Bathroom fans are MUCH quieter than RVK type inline fans (though much less effective too) but I find you need one in and one out, a good flow of room temp air 'in' will help push out the warmer air above. For a small grow, those fans are fine.

That cab looks ready to go now :-) Good luck.

I did this by cutting a 3" hole in the wall between my room and the closet. tommorow I am picking up a 3" vent cover from HD and that should finish it off nicely.
As for the light lose no fear there, I've watched your grows and I'm jealous of your results.

So I got my seeds in, and it is a variety pack, 10 seeds and no labels. So I picked 2 seeds that I thought looked the most similar in color and size, hoping that they are the same type. I waisted no time in getting them in some water and in the dark, they sank instantly. That is a first for me usually I have to wait a day or two for that to happen. I now have them in a paper towel waiting for them to pop. rockwool is set up soaking in a 20% bloom solution, and the small cabinet is all mylared and waiting to start the new babies. Once I get them started I am going to clean the closet out and chop the 2 plant that have shown me they are male and make them into ???.

So I had every thing ready to go, seeds were germinating and I had to go away for one night. my seeds germinated, the towels dryed out and the seeds I think died.:sad::sad:

Hoping to save them but I don't think so. :wall:
Well I've started over once I can do it again.

When Germinating any type of seed I often find the best way is to sandwich them inbetween two wet sheets of tissue paper and then put them on a small plate. I then put another identical plate over the top to seal light out and keep moisture in.

I always leave the plate somewhere warm and check on it every couple of days. I only plant the seeds when they have 5-10mm of root showing. The last seeds I did took 3-4 days until ready.

Have yours actually cracked and sprouted?

I usually take my seeds and place them in a covered shot glass of water until they sink. I then use the the same method you use. Unfortunatlly I had to go away and deal with my brothers house, while I was away dad turned up the heat at home. It dryed out my paper towels and the rest is history... or should I say the seeds were history...:cuss:

The old plants are out and the new ones are started and in place.
OK so here I am witht he new plants and 2 of the 3 have reached the water. The 1 is starting out very slowly. I am hoping that it not getting shocked in some way and that the slowness of it's growth is from genetics only. One can only hope. The middle plant has surprised me because it seams that it's root all of a sudden were there. I looked a day earlier and saw nothing, then bam roots galore for such a small plant. The tallest one of the bunch I am not so worried about this is something that a friend gave me to try because he thought it was decent stuff so OK I will. the yellowing of the bottom leaves is because of the way the leaf formed I believe. the rest of it looks good to me but who really wants those bottom single thingys any way?
