heres my girls , my camera phone ... which is all i have at the moment wont zoom in ont he brown spots. the spots didnt get any bigger but yellowed a littl ebit around the brown. they plants are smaller than they should be small cause a) i didnt transplant them early enough the first time. b) they lost almost a week to lock up issues. i still got a lot of learning to do. im thinking about doing a coco drip system for my next time and then after that switching to dwc or aero. you think thats better than just diving in?

Hey Cg Just checkin in!

Your vegg room looks so HAPPY! It looks like those air pots are keepen up with the DWC.
You should really start another thread for the air pots! This thread is getting huge! Takes forever to load up.

I started a couple dirt plants to play around with this season. Once they root I may need some help with a feeding sche. Ive never messed with dirt but id like to see what the great outdoors can do.

Congrats on all your success!!:clap::clap::clap:
Keep them green, Bro!!

Nice to see ya Chimin' in DF :)

Yea, the Air pots are fabulous..

Your right about the Air pot-Dwc race.. pretty damn close.

Im not quite sure if I agree with the lucas formula, when it comes to vegging.

I went through some old photo's of when I was using Fox Farms, and my clones were visibly Larger at the same time frame..

Cloning with Lucas= PERFECT!... vegging, not so good.

Its disappointing to say the least..

The FF plants were way fuller, lush, and developed alot more shoots at this crucial time of vegging... SIGH..

Plus, they already look more "stretched", not compact like before on FF.

Well, since the vegging wasn't up to par, I went back to FF.. Couldnt wait any longer.

Hate to say it, but i did.

Iam now on my second day of Organics..

It sucks, But Ill have to say.. The FF organics wins when it comes to vegging.

Also, I noticed alot of yellowing the first 2 weeks of 12/12 using the lucas formula.

Lucas didnt have quite enough of nitrogen for the "stretch"

But, after the stretch, the green came back and all's well.

I did another lil experiment about a week ago, and swapped out lucas for FF in one of the flowering buckets, and now that plant is the biggest out of the bunch... And it has that "twinkle" look to it, the other ones dont.

Most likely due to the FF's full line of additives.

Lucas might be better for "average Joe" plants... not my Mj trees.

I've been looking into different hydro nutes, and noticed that Peters/Jacks Classic came out with a hydro nute.

Couldn't believe my freakin' eyes!

But, after emailing the manufacturer, and chatting with em on the phone, its more of a hassle than what its worth.

You have to mix this and that together and yada yada.. Fuck that!

So, for the meanwhile, we're back on FF, and things are growing real well.

I really thought Lucas would kick ass all over FF, But I'm wrong.

Maybe Ill try Lucas once again on a shorter regular GS and see what happens.

Im noticing now that the additives are effective.

Getting a bit discouraged, and frustrated, but thats what experiments are all about.

I still know for a fact that Jacks Classic "Dnamic Duo" is still the #1 Soil fert for veg and bloom.

The ladies I have in soil are finally looking the way they should.

Live and learn I guess.

Have a good one buddy!!! :)

Chat soon, CG :)

Hey CG.

I have been debating about doing CoCo or DwC for my next grow. How easy is it to start & maintain DwC?
Hello there!

Nice to see ya poppin' in on my thread.

Well, I have never done a coco grow so I cannot tell you much about that style of growing.

Dwc certainly has its pro's and con's..

If your doing maybe 2 or 3 buckets, and grew the plants at an average size, then its not that big of a deal.

If your crazy like me, and dont know the real power of hydro and grow em out like tree's you'll have problems..hahaha!

As far as the maintenance is concerned, you will have to do daily checks of water levels, and ph.

And you will have to physically remove the plants from the buckets for nute changes every 2 weeks.

Can be a pain in the ass if there too big.

Or you could setup a controller bucket, that would be the easiest way to control things with out all the labor of removing the plants.

Ill tell you this, Dwc bubblers blows the doors off of soil when it comes to final yields and maturity times.

But, you have to be willing to really get involved with the whole gig.

Certainly not as easy as soil.

But then again, its a bitch to move soil in and outta your house.

If you asked me if its worth it, i would say "YES"

But, you cant take off too long, as in a vacation.. and it is not as forgiving as soil.

Gotta buy the right equipment like ph testers, and ppm meters, but after the initial investment and time it certainly pays off in the long run.

Have a good one, and stop back by.

Your friend, CG :)

heyyy closet whats up. was wondering. by looking at these pics how much time in veg do you think i have left? they seem to be really bushy compared to some others ive seen. but also look a lot smaller than they should be at day 39. i think because of the little bumps i had. thanks cg!

oh and they are about 8 inches each. when i transplanted i buried the bottom a little ... so about 9 inches each. i figured i should wait till they were a little above a foot if i wanted to make this first go worth my while.

It sounds like the lucas mix is missing something. Doesnt sound like a balanced diet. It is prob the easiest but not the best like you said for the trees we like to grow! I have been using Botanicares semi organic line for two years without a problem. I say semi organic because from what ive seen its like a syenthetic organic. It has shiney gliter type look to it. Its not slimmy at all! Its easy to control Nute levels and ph. Im sure its cheaper than the FF. Its hard to with the FF which ones are acually added bennificals or snake oils. I use 5 bottles....Vegg, Flower, liquid karma, cal-mag, and sweet. And I dont know if I will continue using the sweet. But thats it. Dont forget the best method of growing........K.I.S.S. Give her everything she needs and she will give you what you want!
