I think this makes sense especially for someone who doesn't have multiple grow areas.Thinking out loud here...
how about a 3 panel light. The middle panel is ~5K, the 2 outer panels 3000k, with the 2 3Ks on a separate o/o switch. seems like a near perfect veg-harvest light. At ~ 300w it should easily supply a personal use grower.

My last COB's for veg were 5K and did fantastic. Right now I am not seeing anything lacking in this 3K QB compared to the 5K Cree's from before. As the run goes further I will provide more feedback. There will be a detailed journal next week. Finishing getting everything setup right now. I am doing my plant training as usual and getting no unwanted stretch at all. On the contrary much squatter plants than I would have ever expected here. I am finding this to be very curious in a good way.........3000k veg great although admittedly I've never veg with 5000k cobs just fluoros and cfls. Other than unwanted stretch (never suffered this) and decreased luminous efficacy (not decreased enough for me to care), are there other drawbacks to 3000k veg?

Biggest frostiest colas I've grown thus far. Dying to smoke these and see how they compare to my last run with them under the Vero 29's.
Looking forward to see everybody's harvests under the QB's!

It's Nutrifield 70/30 coco perlite with gs-2 Growstones. All those chunks you see are the Growstones. They are pretty awesome and will definitely be a part of my mix no matter what medium I'm using. I do suggest poking holes in the bag and rinsing the whole bag before using them though to get rid of the glass dust since they're made from recycled glass. What is that medium ... Chunky perlite ??
Not that I know of. "3000k" in these Samsung have more blue than"3000k" in Cree..... These are really closer to "3500k" Cree. So that's why I recommend 3000k Samsung's as the best do it all CCT. They have 3500k in the Samsung but I feel it would be a little too neutral white for my taste in flowering.3000k veg great although admittedly I've never veg with 5000k cobs just fluoros and cfls. Those buds are nice and all, but do not seem special. I guess for low wattage they're pretty big or something. A single cola plant should have waaaaay bigger buds, all the buds on this plant were the same size.
