CO2 Air Conditioning

Alright well here are my specs (Sealed Environment Grow) Room 12 feet width 12 feet length 6 feet height in basement

-water cooled CO2 generator
-air cooled light reflectors
-6 x 600W lights
-Sentinel CHHC-4
-40 Pint dehumidifier
-Heater (just in case)
-Using Modular Scrog
-4 x 16 inch oscillating fans

1. Intake of fresh air turns on 1 hour before lights go on
2. Lights go on (Intake turns off)
3. Reflector fans turn on
4. CHHC-4 starts pumping CO2 into the room (1500 PPM) regulates humidity and heat as well
5. Oscillating fans go on

The last thing that I need is an AC Unit. However, I haven't been able to find a single concrete answer about Dual Hose AC units. There's no window so I can't install a window unit, Not going to install a split AC unit (have neither the money at the moment or possibility of placing a condenser on the outside of my house).

From my understanding the dual hose ac units work much the same way an air cooled reflector works. Air from the outside is pumped into the unit and and then exhausted out (in this case the adjacent room). However, from my online research there have been a few cases where the CO2 was pumped out of the grow room. Does anybody have any experience with Dual Hose Ac Units?

your room sounds exactly like the one in my basement.

Here is the deal on the dual tube air conditioners.... they suck dick. They are THE most inefficient AC made. There is a reason they don't put seer ratings on them

It sound like you have a really nice room. You just need one last piece of gear to really make it pimp as fuck. and that is a 18k BTU minisplit.

They are not cheap, but they work fucking fantastic.

Install that puppy and COMPLETELY seal your grow room. Done.

No bugs, no fans, no bullshit. Just precisely controlled grow conditions.

Oh yeah, i ahven't shut my oscilating fans off (except to clean them) in like 3 years. LEAVE THEM ON MOLD STRIKES AT NIGHT!!!!!!1

I just bought 2 12kbtu port. Dual hose ac systems... 550 shipped to local grow store. He uses them on his co2 sealed rooms without much co2 loss. Im expecting same results cause it same ac system he uses... has dehumidifier in it also so that plus for me.

The mini split will completely pay for itself in energy savings over about 2 years.

Anyways. I would really advise the 18k. I bought a 12k and it runs pretty hard to keep up. They say about 4k watts per ton give or take. It's hard on the units to run full steam for 12 hours straight. With the 18 you will have much more control and the ability to expand a little in the future.

Yes, you will need an hvac to vaccum the lines but he doesn't have to see the cooling unit to do it. They do sell units with quick connects so you don't need an hvac but they are a little pricier. Do not install without vaccuming. The smallest amount of moisture will ruin your compressor.

Cheers

Or yu can MAKE a bootleg minisplit type thing. I did this in my grow and i have no noticeable co2 loss.
Basically, window a/cs draw air from two places and expell out the back. The front only circulates air while the sides take air in and cool itself than exhausts it out the back. So take an old window a/c and build two seprate chambers on it. One for intake and one for exhaust. Have the intake come from a seprate room and exhaust to outside or wherever. I exhaust into my houses vents for extra heat :) now its being cooled by outside air and cooling indoor air with no exhange or pressure change (there may be tiny "leaks" INSIDE the unit but as i said, no noticable drop in co2)
Window a/cs have seprate coil sides so this works well when yu cant mount it in a window, but can cut holes in walls (i actualy cut a hole in the door. Easier to buy a door than patch a wall hole >.>)

Sir KK

PS oh and as a bonus, yu can buy window a/cs for DIRT online. Got my 12k btu unit for $50. Winter time gives deals on A/Cs :) buy em now. Im about to get another one and stack it ontop of my first. I only got 3.2k watts but the co2 generator adds alot of heat. Temps sit at 80-82...inside tents, 90 >.<

dual hose ac? no worry's works just like a reflector, its the single hose and retail units you have to worry about since most exhaust the air as well as cool with some mods these can be easily converted to a dual hose setup though.

i would look into a mini split or through wall AC they are more effcient.

Dual hose ac units do not hold co2 in room... my rooms are poly walls. When my ac is running all my walls suck inward like crazy and this is with my intake hose and exhaust both routed outside my room. I then tried to only put the cold air into room and have rest of ac hhalfway out of wall and it wouldn't read temperature correctly... finally story is they were a waste and disaster.
