Coco VS soil. Same strain. Planted at the same time. Unreal

I would guestimate approximately 6 weeks ago. I placed seedlings next to clones known to have mites and they ravaged all of my plants before I got it under control. Live and learn. What can ya do? I was in the habit of writing the date on the plant markers and I need to make it a habit moving forward. Having the info is nice.

I'm not growing in peat there limp biscuit. I'm growing in a coco hempy which is water to waste hydro. Both peat and coco are inert mediums. When used alone or amended with perlite what you have is water to waste hydro. Glad I could help sort that out for you. I sincerely hope you do not have an automobile. The thought of you driving is terrifying. This whole reading comprehension issue seems to be an epidemic.

Looks like you've got some nice purple funk there dude!

I mean I know Bog would be laughing at your post right now if he was still around, holding a godly plant in his left hand, face covered, bathrobe on of course...and a hoover vacuum in his right hand that was half the size of the biggest bud on his organic soil grown sweet tooth #3 or bogbubble...

Good god. Where to even begin. A) I really hope english is not your first language. B) The rate of growth in soil is exponentially slower than the rate of growth in hydro. This is a known and accepted fact of life. Those are lovely very large plants. Have you any idea how long a grower must veg a plant in soil to get a plant that large? A hydro grower could dam near make it through 2 harvests before that soil grower taking the time to veg a plant of that size would make it through 1 harvest.

and taking a peak at your past work...about twice the size of anything you've done in coco either....

I've used #4 chunky perlite for the last 4 years. This is my first coco experiment in over 5 years and I did not post any pictures of that grow. Dishonesty is not a desirable personality trait. It looks good on you though.

But to premise the post as, soil is dog shit... too slow...doesn't compare at all... is complete horseshit.

I did not state soil is dog shit. That's your interpretation influenced by your severe reading comprehension issues. The only thing I stated is that coco grows significantly faster than soil and for that reason I will no longer grow in soil. Rock on keyboard cowboy.

As proven 20 years ago, with worse soil options and worse light options and way harsher penalties if you got found out....so in essence harder grow spaces...more hidden if you will...... Although i do feel.. for the average grower, great yield can be achieved with coco...or a bunch of dead yellow plants....one or the other

Worse soil options? Are you smoking crack? You just showed your severe lack of knowledge. Rock on buttercup. Your sentence structure just makes my head hurt. Worse lights? HPS lighting is highly effective today just as much as it was 20 years ago. With the introduction of high efficiency LED lights there's simply no need to operate power sucking HPS lights anymore. That does not mean they aren't highly effective. Don't ever change. You're the best!

SMH. Makes troll thread to discuss what everyone already knows... Hydro is faster and offers more control to grow. or kill shit...., trolls simple questions by calling people names, posts youtube video no one will watch, because everyone already knows the contents..... I mean it seems...like they're not even reading your post at all...because its pointless.....And if the lights 2 decades ago...when growing was completely illegal.....(and power companies reported power spikes to authorites all the time)....take an obscene amount of power to do what lights today for much less power... Doesn't that literally make them ....less efficient...? Or harder to use, to hide, to work around ambient temps, as they put off several times heat in the grow area......so..........Worse? When did I say they were LESS effective? Right I didnt....I think you're just butthurt people generally think this thread is a waste of time, Maybe Later I will make a post on an aviation forum full if knowledgeable flying enthusiasts....which as, like riu.... many many stickies posts stating what you have here....That jets are faster than prop driven air craft...? I wonder if they'd embrace me as you are expecting to be here......anyways.. lol.. but then you started calling peoples names who thought differently than you, why didnt you just wait untill the soil caught up...and you could put it in the same pot....for equal visual comparison? Hmm. .......But hey, at last we really found out who was soft and squishy and easilly bent out of shape and has headaches over reading simple forum replies, acting like you've been replied to in some language you had to decipher using the dead sea scrolls......Its....Kinda...like a cupcake, because you're the only one claiming people are smoking crack, are stupid...... or calling people derogatory names.......Hmmm....maybe you're more closely described by another term else that ends with 'ake' that people often use to describe to instant name calling melt down artists...But hey, fly off the handle if you want, sir.

oh and if you think you could go to your local Garden store....and pick up everything you need in a bag for organic soil grows thaty sustain for most or all of the grow of the plant, 20 years ago.. you're wrong. Could you make your own...? sure...But...off the shelve...there was less options. This is a fact.

Much love! You need it.

I stopped reading after the first sentence. Can I get grammar lessons from you sometime? I only have an eighth grade education and I feel like I can learn a lot from an educated cat like yourself. I really want to learn how to turn 3 paragraphs into 1. It almost looks like your entire post is 1 big rambling run on sentence. It seems like you've got the number of periods correct, but they're in all the wrong places. Kinda like your commas :)

I could be wrong but the medium on those 2 big plants looks very dry. Leaves are curling up a bit on both plants with some chlorosis on the coco plant. What kind of fertilizer regimen are you running? ec? Temps? Check for mites? You've got damage on the small seedlings in soil too. Usually damage that early on is bugs eating your leaves.
Wait, so anytime there's twisting and curling in the leaves that means it's a sign of bug issues?

Not at all. Mangled new growth can be a lot of things but the most common I've seen are bugs and PH issues. Bugs love eating fresh growth. If that's the only place you're observing significant damage bugs would be my first guess if I know my PH is in check. Plant massacring bugs are incredibly common in any garden indoor or outdoor. Pulling a leaf off and viewing the tops and bottoms under a $20 kids microscope takes about a minute and a half. No larvae, eggs, or adult bugs? Then check your fertilizer regimen. Too hot? Are you feeding too weak? How's your lighting? Environment (i.e. temps / humidity)?

I recently thought I was having a calcium and magnesium deficiency that was killing my plants. Fast. I altered my fertilizer recipe for nearly a month trying to get the plants back on track. When I realized I was getting nowhere I finally yanked a leaf off and placed it under a 40x kids microscope. Fucking mite eggs everywhere. They particularly love the edges of leaves. Mite damage can and often does look exactly like fertilizer burn or a deficiency of one or more elements. From what I've seen posted over the years most people immediately start monkeying with their fertilizer (like I did) without ever so much as examining a single leaf to inspect for pests. I pull leaves off every day to inspect now. The more you know about your plants the healthier you'll be able to keep them.

Aside from pests and paying the electric bill growing dope is pretty easy. I've spent over $600 on different pesticide products to get rid of mites. I'm drained but the plants are back to healthy. And I'm certain I've lost hair in the process :)

Lol. You had me worried for a few. I've seen a twisted leaf or two on my plants, but once I fed and raised my ph they always grew out of it.
Thanks for the response and for taking the time out and breaking it down for me.

Hes not in soil and this comparism is bullshit. Growing properly in “soil” is much more dificult than in coco which is simple routine. Thats why I stayed with coco. Just saying this thread is non sense thats all.
Oh yeah, soil is much more work than coir, but I am enjoying the learning curve I am on working towards a fully organic soil mix.

I get that the experiment done here proves is the OP had two plants and the one in coir grew bigger. We have no idea why.

At the beginning of the thread there is a picture of 2 plants of the same strain planted at the same time grown in different mediums. 1 plant in coco and 1 in soil. The coco plant is twice the size of the soil plant. Is this really that difficult for you to accept?

Lastly, which color paint chips did you enjoy snacking on as a kid?
Were the two plants clones or from seed? Was there a 3rd "control plant"?
