LoL, what wheezer said! I don't drink coffie oops see i did it again lol. Its just one of those words I never really payed attention to, oh yea and did I mention I can't spell haha!! I'm supprised no one said anything until now lmao! Oh yea and thanks! :)

@BC yea shes swelling up pretty damn good so far, I'm curious to see how she finishes up! The reason why I asked about straight water the other day is because she was a little sad from the nutes so I've been giving her straight water for 48hrs and she seems to be a lot happier! I added very light nutes back into the res last night so back to work she goes lol..
I couldn't resist..........

How do you know if your getting root rot? I noticed the past couple weeks my roots have a tint to them, at first I just figured it was the nutes but then I started to get paranoid and remebered what you where saying about it BkB! I'll snap a pic tomorrow so you guys can see. I went from a 10 gal pump to 40 in the coffie can to help airiation lol. Other than that the temp is right around 70 of the water and the only time the roots see light is for a few seconds when I'm checking the ph. Could a few seconds of light effect the roots? I'm also not using anything besides Flora Nova Bloom, I planned on running hygrozyme but havent picked it up yet. If I want to run the coffie container in the summer how the hell are the roots gonna grow in hotter water?

You will need a chiller for your res in the summer months.

Considering your roots are probably filling that container up
That could very likely be your problem
The roots will only be able to grab soo much o2 when packed in the pot
Maybe try airing it out every day by taking the roots out

I brewed a tea with Earthworm Castings, Great White, Molasses and Distilled water. I brewed it for 48 hours prior to use and made sure it was at 65F.

Peace

to chill the water i just dropped iced water bottles in for a couple mins...that drops the temps quick...my roots always start out nice milky white, as they progress they turn a darkish tint, but you can still see the new milky white roots growing..a dehumidifier works good too for moisture..air pump im using one of those dual pumps from walmart like 10 buck with a tiny airstone, I did an h202 treatment one time on normajane in the beginning, and I damn near killed her, so i personally stay away, It fried the roots and I dunno like dehydrated them, they turned brittle.. the plant did not like that..oh, root rot, kinda smells...like rot..its apparent, i flushed a good week or 2 with fresh water, cleaned out the res real good also, scrubbed it..roots also dont like light, but we all know this...

Where does this "roots dont like light" come from
I hear it all the time
Light has no effect on roots besides maybe some discoloration

Mother nature is my guess, since she decided to keep roots under ground and away from light.

Hey guys.....any suggestions at keeping the res temp down in the Coffee cans? the temp in my area ranges between 76-85 or so but the res water feels a little warm. Ice cubes and such only work for a little while

Hell yeah, my IDK's are looking better now. The soil test girl matured first, but hydro in the coffee can is about 4" taller with more side growth. I'll be updating the pics probably on wed. Don't like how much they've stretched, but I couldn't help it since the 12/12 room I had already switched to the hps lamp.
