CFL's will still keep your energy usage low, and you'll be happier. Currently I run:
2 x 324w CFL racks
2 x 400w HPS
2 x 8" inline fans
2 x 6" inline fans
2 x tower fans
1 x oscillating fan
2 x light timers
...and all this has only increased my light bill by around $50 a month. Hope this eases your mind a little.

i just took pics of the weird bloches on the leaves of 2 of em, let me know if you hav any idea of what i could b doing wrong

the camera im using is very cheap, the color is a little off, the blochs are darker purple/brown than they look in pics

damn that does sound alot cheaper lol im goona go around to a couple different stores and try to find a cfl rack, i jus have tubes mostly because all i have are regular table lamps for the cfls. i just need to find a good row of 4 or 5 i can hang

I wish I could be of more use, but I'm not very good yet, at diagnosing plant problems, other than your basics - and I sure don't want to steer you wrong. Have you checked out the Plant Problem section? There are a few stickies there that help you self diagnose, and if those don't help (or you don't feel comfortable trying yet) post these pics in that section, give up all the details (what you're growing in, temps, watering schedule, the works - everything you can think of) and one of our more experienced "plant doctors" will help you.

I can help you there. Home Depot has these white, metal racks that work perfect for making your CFL rack (I made mine, pics included). The four ft one costs like five bucks, I think. Any socket will do - if you have old lamps, great - if not, you can get them cheap as well at any home improvement store. Zip ties to hold 'em on. And one or two 15ft white extension cords from Home Depot (2 bucks each) one for your cord, one for your jumper wires. Or - if you're making a smaller rack, you can have a 10ft cord and have the other five ft of wire left for your jumpers.
By shopping around, I was able to make these 12 bulb racks for $75 each - less lights, less cost. And if you have some of the stuff already it will cost less.
If you need help wiring it, let me know - it's fairly easy.

but i dont think it is but im jw, do u think it could b life threatening whatever is goin on with the leaves and undergrowth?

Your problem could be normal for that strain or a nutrient deficiency. It could be from the temperature or lack of it. It could also be from your lights not giving the plants what they need. My advice fix all the problems you can and take it from there. Its too hard to diagnose a problem when there are several other underlying problems.

yea for sure, but i wus told to use molases for potasium nutes, any body know how to aply it to the plant? do i mix it in water, or soil or what?

...yeah, as I first stated...purple stems are a great indication of things being too cold.

...and your spots on your leaves are from being overwatered. Let the plant dry out before watering again, k bud. Good luck.

I love your setup. Great work.

I use those same racks, but not for lighting- they lay across two cinder blocks, and my pots sit on the rack for easy drainage. I'd totally do what you have going if I hadn't already spent money on a t-5 setup also, which I feel obligated to use until it breaks
