Wholly crap, I just became a "Mr. Ganja". Happy birthday to me. lol

I didn't know that 1,000 messages gave you that ranking. They should have a thread on the ranking rules.

He was from Kentucky btw. I made a mistake too and read it too fast. I thought it said Louisianna (shit, I can't even spell it. lol) but it said Louisville. I'm assuming they mean the one in KY but not sure.

The story sais he's a LA man, I'm confussed as to why a boulder paper would run the story. Did he get arrested in CO or LA?

And sorry but I'm new to CO, is that a Boulder newspaper?

Bro you gotta put the pipe down.. it says hes from Lousiville. thats a city in Boulder County, COLORADO. LOL

I just moved here and don't know many of the cities yet.

I was reading a lot last night, so it's easy to read something too fast. It's a bad habbit I have.

And the only Louisville I had ever heard of before moving here is in KY. I think it might be the capital of KY, not sure. That's why I thought of KY first.

the plants are 34 inches from soil now.
hope they appear to be average.

Nice, that's the best CFL grow I've seen yet. Hope those buds are coming in nice & dense for you.

thanks man, when i was veggin i had 6 plants, i had all 600+ watts of cfl's hanging just above all six plants.
when i went to 12/12 i thought why not use all those cfl's along with the 400 watt hps
Good call, you can never have too much lights. The weaker CFLs (32w to about 50w) you can move right up to the plant. Some say an inch away, but Seymour Buds says you can move them as close as you can get them without touching.

I haven't used any CFLs yet, but I plan to when I flower. So I did a lot of research on them, and the closer you get, the denser the buds.

What happened to the other 3 plant btw?

Was gonna say bud porn but the pic is kinda blurry, I don't know how many of you are following my little one cfl grow but thought I would post this weeks pic here. was trying to get it (the pic) without the flash on, the pics come out better under the lights.

Anyway this is the first day of the 6th week of flowering under one 65 watt cfl (with added 32 watt T9) and it at least gives you an idea of where it is at.

If your watching the grow then you know if not then I'll tell ya I have spent a lot of time dispelling the myths here, not that many want to listen.

Like the last post where more light is better, which is not true if you know how to grow. I go way back before all these fancy lights were invented so getting big buds with a cfl was a no brainer for me. I wanted to show folks here what can be done. All things are possible with knowledge :bigjoint:

For those here in CO that are new to growing I am runing a class in one of my threads, please feel free to check it out

what the hell lets add a bud shot from a couple of days ago

hey danny any updates on your transplant project?
Not yet, I'm waiting on a part for my car and can't get more soil till then. It should be here Tuesday.

They're both doing great, even the smaller one, she didn't seem to mind getting some of her roots cut by accident.

I watered them with a half gallon each the night of the transplant and 2 days later (last night) they were begging for more water already, so I gave them each a gallon and they're nice & perky now.

I haven't measured them, and I just started UVB treatments last night.

I've been working mostly on the clones in cups, I overwatered them when I first planted them so they're rooting slowly. I have 15 at a time on a heating mat uncovered and when they start to wilt I lay a piece of sarran wrap over then, and turn it over when I see moisture build up. It's the only way I can think of to remove some of the moisture. I don't think a lot of them are going to make it though.

That's about it, I should be continuing the transplants Tues or Wed, and on Fri I'll be treating for mites again. And if all goes well I'll be treating for mites the following Friday and then I'll be putting them into flower right away.

Wow, I spend two days arguing with Doogleef who's telling me that light is more important than anything else including root growth & formation. Now you're going to tell me that light don't mean shit. lol

Uncle ben has a few threads that covers light and according to him (he's considered somewhat of a guru) the only time you can have too much light is when you start to bleach the chlorophil out of your leaves. And that is something that you generally don't have to worry about with CFLs.

As far as light, since so many argue this way & that, let me just say that as far as HIDs, I'm sticking with Uncle Ben's info unless I find that he's wrong through my own experience. And as far as CFLs, I'm going to stick with Seymour Buds info unless I find that he's wrong through my own experience.

So if you have a problem with the advice I give on lights while I'm following their advice, please take it up with them.

And btw, when you say you go back to before all these fancy lights were invented, do you mean the CFLs? They've only been on the market for a few years if memory serves me right. Or do you mean LEDs? Or HIDs? Or Fluoro Tubes?

Actually scratch that last question, I really have no interest in arguing about lights. All I know is I have three 400w HIDs for 7 plants and I wish I had more. And I'll be adding CFLs during veg to get better coverage under the canopies. And after seeing the results from a grow done with a 400w CFL, I think I'm gonna get on for veg until I can afford a MH. And maybe add some CFLs or Fluoro tubes to that big CFL.

arent the uvb treatments for when theyre in flower with trichs?
Yes, but they can also be used to keep bugs away. Many of them don't like UV rays.

Also, the closer you get them in flower the better they work. And to get them close you need to work on their "base tan". The better their "tan" the closer you can move them. So I want to start them now so they'll already have their "base tan" when I start to flower.

Plus I'm hard headed so I want to see for myself if the Tricombe development can begin before flower if given the right incentive. But if I hadn't had soo many problems with nute burns, underwatering, bugs, pH problems & fluctuation, etc.... I would have started them the first week that they were in the 5 gallon containers.

I have one UVB hung at about 4ft. to get them started. If they do well in a few days I'll move them a few inches closer, and so on.

I'm also hoping that they have some effect on any Mite eggs that may be in the room. But that's just a hope, I'll never know if it does anything.

Thanks for the +rep

Hey everyone, I got a newbie type question about cool tubes.

I bought my HIDs from HTG and I have to buy a cool tube for the MH. Do I have to buy the cool tube from HTG to make sure it fits & has the right connections?

+rep for help.
