Controlling smell with portable ac?

I had to get a portable ac due to heat issues. I have it hooked up and it is keeping a negative pressure on my tent so that is good.

The heat coming out of that thing is something else. I'm afraid it will shorten the life of my phresh filter.

Are negative ion generators effective? I could move the exhaust into a room and run the ion Gen if it will work.

Don't like negative ion generators... that's so 2001. Seriously though they do work, rocked the Silverbullet for awhile, but there is something not right about the air they produce, I've had people tell me it makes them sick. I don't get sick but there is "something in the with" with those.

A portable AC has to vent the heat energy it's removing from the grow area plus the electrical energy it's using. So it'll heat up the air on the hot side just like putting a massive heater there.

Luckily carbon filters are tolerant of heat. Phresh filters are rated to a max working temp of 176F or 80C. So you can install the filter on the end of the AC without heat being an issue.

Only problem is the air restriction from going through the filter might cause cause the AC to overheat due to not enough air movement. You can run an inline fan before the filter to boost the air pressure and help the AC along if you find this is an issue.
