I did, He didnt have canna line. But he had like the coco rock looking thing that you add to a gallon of water and it expands a bunch then he said you mix it with a certain type of soil he pointed out to me and you got the same thing, and its cheaper that way. Not really sure, he said canna and or coco soil is really bomb though.

its alwys good to be learning and asking questions... your lookin good man, it looks like youve got all the basic necessities covered, now just worry about keeping your room cool, with the light as far down as you can safely get, also with complete light coverage. you got a super deal, you won't be dissapointed with your purchase believe that! keep us updated, its time to play the waiting game!

so I halfway set it up to check it out. My god that light is BRIGHT, I dunno how Im going to sleep with that puppy on. I'm just going to wait for my g/f to get off work so she can help me finish setting it up, kinda hard manipulating stuff alone. Although when I cranked the puppy on the Ballast was making a pretty loud noise, He said at the store that in should have a small hum but nothing to loud so if that does subside by tomorrow I think ill just take the ballast in and see whats up. Input needed
do you have any pics of the ballast? assuming is just a standard magentic, that buzzing will always be there- nothing wrong with the components. If it is a remote ballast, just do your best to put it off where its not really noticeable. There is a large magnet in there with an electric charge, so you are gonna hear it. If it doest have rubber feet on it, you can also throw those, or on like a rubber or non skid drawer liner, that will absorb some of the vibrations

The only other alternative to quieting a ballast is to run a 240v power supply, if possible.

For the most part tho, you should get used to the hum and it shouldnt be a bother.

Overall tho, i agree with ganj father, you have the basics and things are looking great!

did you get any of your meters?

havent gotten any meters yet. im going to pick up a ph tester, a couple fans, a temp gauge, and some new chains to hang the new light from. I'm going to ask my brother if I can borrow his camera to take some high quality pics, he has a way better one. lol this new light doesnt work with my old timer so I might get a new one of those to, havnt decided yet. My g/f turned the light back on when she got up this morning and woke my ass up lol.

haha! I bet that was the one thing you were glad to wake up to huh?! your definitely going to want to get a timer, then you can set your baby to be sleeping when you are. don't feel bad though, i'm up at 8:45 every weekend to the lovely hum of my ballasts, I just use that as an alarm to get up and tend to the children, lol. when you look for a temp gauge see if you can find one with a humidity sensor, bag seeds have less resistances to mold in most cases, so some DNF Enhance might be a good idea to purchase, it increases the plants immunitys to molds and mildews, some bugs don't like it too. its got pine oil and neem oil as the main ingredients, good shit for your plants, it also has some N so your plants will get nice and green. it can be used right along with your other ferts. **hey guys did you see, I just learned how to roll a joint, yay me!!**

good fricken work buddy :D, lol. Yeah my and the g/f are going to head out for shopping really soon and ill snag the Camera as well. what should I shoot for the humidity in therE? and Temp? PH from 6.5-7 correct? also I have the light about 2 feet for so away from the plants, not sure if thats correct but when I up some pics it will def. help u figure it out. Also should I start using a ½tsp of that flora nova grow per gal of water?

you could start adding a bit of nute, use about 1/8 strength once and see how they react, within a day youl notice them either start so grow more and get greener, or they might get a little sickly. however, I nute my plants as soon as I take cuttings, I use a very diluted bloom solution because it helps stimulate root growth, then soon as I transplant from my rooter to soil they get a dilluted (1/4-1/2) veg solution. I would say you would be safe... here's a quot from one of ed rosenthals books on temp, "the maximum growth rate is achieved when the temp ranges from 70-74 degrees during the lit period, with a drop of about 10 degrees (but no lower than the high 50's) during the dark period." as far as humitity, you want to stay between 40-50%, but towards the end of the grow cycle its going to jump as high as 80%... that's where the DNF Defence comes in handy (google it real quick) because mold spores thrive in the same conditions cannabis does. your PH will be safe between 6-7, but OPTIMUM is 5.9-6.4.

i second what ganj father said.

for your light, probably about 30" from the surface of the soil. But its really going to depend on your conditions with the fan and all that, keep an eye on your plants, they will let you know if the light is too close! the closer the better, but you dont want to burn them.

i have started a grow journal for my most recent grow of AK 47, its in the beginings but you can check on it from time to time!

usually the manufacturer has a suggested strength, either tsp's per gallon, or somthing to that effect. if manufacturer says to use 2 tsps per gallon, use an 1/8th a tsp per gallon. this is until you can see how your babies react to the fert. i'm guessing you can bump that to half dose in about a week and keep it there, i would also transplant asap. be very gentle, to prevent stress.

Really transplant asap? ok ill do that today then... what size pots would you say? also I know you recommend canna coco soil medium, but is there another type of soil that is bomb? dont wanna go canna till I get some high quality seeds :D. I have 10 plants, and lets say I go 1 gallon or so Pots, how much soil will I need? ;)

10 1 gallon pots, probably 3-4 bags of potting soil. look for an organic soil, anywhere, you'll probably want to mix perlite in there also. i try to stay away from stuff like mirical grow, anything with chemicals.

personally i would suggest mushroom compost, a good quality brand. shouldnt be but a couple bucks per bag. locally its $6/40 lb. bag.

ganj father is on the money with the other stuff. no miracle grow or anything of that sort. some people get results (for a period of time) but its not something you want to mess with. Go organic and just something that isnt the lowest quality- say there is a $3, $5, $8 bag- go with at least the 5.

foxfarm has good soils but i dont know if they will have it or if it is expensive or what...ocean forest is the name of their stuff.
