I got the pack of water and food back to the GN patch this morning. No trouble at all getting to the pack. I picked up trash beside the road, then slipped into the woods. Didn't see a car coming or going. But when I went in the truck to pick the pack up later, my neighbor saw me and stopped to talk. Must have been 4 or 5 cars go by while we were talking. I went on to check on the Deer Ate CP1 and stopped and got the pack on the way back home.

I cut out all of the dead parts of the Deer Ate CP1, but some of the other leaf tips are starting to curl up and turn brown. I don't feel good about it's chances.

I've only had it happen once. And that plant had worms and wasps on it. I thought the wasp might have been laying the eggs the worms came from. But since then I have heard of a wasp that lays eggs in caterpillar larvae. That might have been the case. But I have no idea if the worms, wasps and the dying were connected at all.

I made almost a pound off that plant, even with it dying and getting ate up with worms. This one is much smaller, and the dying is starting earlier.

Friday morning I got down to the FP patch. I gave the BST2 male another haircut. Looks like I was a couple days late on most of the pollen. But I have plenty already.

Then I cut him down.

I dusted the BST1 a little, but it looks like it already had some natural pollination going on. Also had some worm action going on. I found and killed two. I didn't have my neem with me. Will go back on Monday.

Later on I got by the GB patch, where I saw this little fellow, whom I dispatched. The GV1 and GV2 are stretching like crazy. The taller of the two is chest high. Should see real flowering soon.
