So this is my first time growing and I've seem to hit a plateau. It's only my second week into vegging but the plant seems to be getting worse. My temps are between 73-80. My soil Ph is around 6.5 and water is 6.8. I'm using 2 100watt cfl for this plant and using black gold potting soil. I just flushed thinking it was a nute problem and no results. Please help...I don't want my first time to be a bust! Lol

We can't see the pics. :)

Also, are you sure those aren't 23 watt CFLs, with "100 watt equivalent"? Huge difference, so it's good to be sure. Always go by actual wattage, when using CFLs.

Have you overwatered? does your mix include perlite?.....after planting my germed seeds into a 4 inch pot and water, I don't have to water again for a week or so....

my mix does include 20% perlite and 20% vermiculite. I havent used any fertilizers but what is included in the soil. Jawbrodt, you are correct im using a 26 watt and a 40 watt cfl.

Idk man, looks like it got cooked by the light. Everything else sounded okay, from your description. Hmm.... *scratches chin*lol

that is what i was thinking. or could it possibly be from the sudden temperature drop outdoors? my room dropped to a 65 degrees but when i woke i raised it by adding a light. i guess ill wait till the soil drys and go from there. Is there any fertilizer I can add to the soil to help it with growth during the veg stage?

also what is a good range of humidity for them during all cycles of life? I havent heard of any specifics, just people's own opinions. right now it is only about 40% so i hope that isnt too low...

yea i would say so if u are using 2 100 watt cfl. i would move it to about 7 inchs or so and see what happens, all my boxs show that as light burn.

I moved the lights up so now only time will tell. I replaced my 26 watt with a 55 watt spiral CFL. Hopefully that'll be enough light and hopefully bring the baby back to life. Thanks for all your help. I'll keep you posted on what happens...

If it's not light burn, your mix could have a chunk of chicken manure pressed up against a cluster of roots.

That sounds like a real possibility, unless there is some other bit of info he is forgetting to give us.

Did you spray them with anything?

Never sprayed anything on them. When i flushed them 2 days ago i got one droplet of water on a leaf but besides that nothing. There could be something clogging the roots? How could i even diagnose that?

It wouldn't exact be called "clogging", it's be more of a "hotspot", burning the roots, due to uneven soil mixing. Seriously though, I start germing more seeds, because even if you do get this problem figured out, that plant is going to take a long time to bounce back.
