what makes crystals for and how does that affect the weed its a good thing i know but really whats the purpose

thc crystals are formed so that the UV light does not burn the plant while flowering.
if you use an hps bulb youll get big buds with little thc (it depends on the strain)
if you use a metal halide bulb youll get smaller stickier buds
if you use them both youll be a genius

what he said, and more. The crystals ( THC ) are also sticky so it allows the plant to catch pollen floating around.

"the crystals" are called Trichomes, if still on the plant's bud leaves. In Europe, they call them "resin glands:". After you remove them, they are called "kief" . If you compress them in a chunk and heat them to stick together, they are called HASH or HASHISH.

so, lemme get this straight - its better to use both MH AND HPS during flowering? is that what your saying, or are you saying that your a genius if you use MH for veg n HPS for flowering? can someone clarify please?? cuz im usin a 600w HPS for flowering, n a MH for veg - should i be getting an extra ballast to throw the MH in with the HPS during the flowering photoperiod???

for your info ganja i hate the grow faqs i like to know info from the growers not the directions. not to be an ass but when you put something together do yo rely on directions or would you let somebody help you who has the experience. thats y i post i dont read grow faqs because everytime i post something its more info fom hundreads of people not some faqs that probally isnt updated very often for instance everybody use differnt grow methods i dont see that on grow gaqs. thank you for your insight tho

When you ask something as basic as what do the crystals do you look like an ass.
I read and reasearched for countless hours, and not once did I post a general question. I did the reasearch myself and if anything was unclear after doing my research, I asked a question to clarify.
If you don't help yourself why should anyone help you?

well if u read my posts you see that i been flowering for 5wks and 2days ago my plant was covered in crystals i got like 10 differnt statements about that. so fuck let me ask what r they maybe people will make sense besides this is my first ever grow i dont know shit unless someone tell me. and last i did research on it by why happen in a 2day period?

No resinous benefit is seen from using mh for veg and hps for flower. The mh must be used late or all the way through flower. Though no scientific study has been published regarding the potency difference between those buds grown under mh or hps, many have observed a more resinous plant under mh or a combination of the two. Most believe it to be from possible uv production by the mh. It is quite apparent in those grows with stationary lights of mixed mhmand hps. Where the two intersect, there seems to be a sweet spot. When I grew commercialy, all my stash came from those sweet spots, closer to the mh side. It took a few grows to notice, but it was obvious to the point where they sometimes looked like different strains. As I grow small now, I use an hps until I start to flush and I switch to a warm mh. I found it drops my yield about 5% but makes it last me 25% longer. I don't own a gas-cromatograph mass-spectrometer but I'm pretty sure this method yields for me a more potent product. I get three extra rips off my vaporizer than with hps alone. Although these buds sometimes don't hold a candle to the cream of the crop, so to speak, of the dual light system I used to use. But I think my clones are tired so who knows. Homegrown organic jack herer still is better than %99 of the crud I've paid for.
I will be trying these new sunpulse bulbs available as hps with uv production on my next grow. Hopefully by Xmas there will be more info out there about their use with cannabis.
