I grew 1 and it had a Raspberry-blueberry taste with no muffin and lower potency. It was all purple and finished in about 45 days flower!

I've smoked a bunch of purple phenos and all have lacked potency.....the green phenos I've smoked have been amazing (even blue coloring on the nugs)

Every pheno purple or green has had excellent flavor though but the green ones are more potent imo.
Good to know, thank you for the info

Anyways, sorry to get off track fellas,
I just want one more pack and ill be good for the next year,i want the chemdog d s1,i have not heard one bad report on it,in fact they are all raving reviews.and another consistancy is that all the reports state extreme potency!
Agree about the chem d s1's. Funny too because when they first dropped people were worried they'd be herm prone.

When you smoke a room full of clones of Chem D, makes a man look at those varying phenos of s1s a lil different, that’s for sure. Clones are becoming as commonplace as beans used to be and now there are people and their dogs chucking beans for 20 a pack. lol
The game is definitely changing.

Yep. most people buy seeds hoping to find something akin to the mother plant.

The clone world has really opened up recently to the masses, and at reasonable prices.

Sure, there's downsides to clones. PM, viroids, fakes, etc. So you have to do your research there too.

But it's no coincidence that GPS is now selling clones. I know at least Heisen pokes around the clone discords, so they are seeing how much the market is growing.

I'll still pop seeds too, of course. But having some truly great cuts in the stable is a no brainer to me.

Clones are easy to get today those arent an issue . I have plenty on clones I run. For me Its having a plant making pollen in my area. Just the risk factor . You asked why a person wouldn't reverse thier own. I'm telling you me personally my space cannot have pollen in it. I have 2 areas a 25 x 18 area and a 10x10 . I don't have a huge area but it's not small. Imagine some one with only a 4x4 . I've made plenty of seeds enough to know how long pollen stays viable for and the issues it can cause me .
The thought of accidently seeding my whole crop is why I won't do something like that and would rather buy clones or buy seeds. If I had a second area away from my 1st I would or if I had pollen in hand I would . Time , space , money.

Clones are riskier for pollination? I'd argue seeds are riskier because you never know what you're gonna get.

But your concern about stray pollen is certainly valid regardless of clone/seed. Triploids will be helpful for growers like you with a strict no-seeded-bud requirement.

why i like clones of clones. I really have no need for seeds because of the risk and I do have a tent in the other part of house for projects. But for years I looked for mother leaners in everything I grew or could afford to. My first room of clone smoke was Corey, Legend, and Chem D. Im never looking back and Ive added a few ogs to the mix. And I love the cheap tests thats goin on. This game is changing quick, and for some of us just homegrowers for ourselves a patient or two, its tits right now. Whats not to like with 18-18-18 numbers wise and 6 lbs weight wise, legally?! Its even halfway easy to research folks pretty quick to find out who's legit. Many are like the beans, theyd rather trade, etc. So thats kinda cool. imho.

Haha don't wanna derail the CSI thread but I agree 100%. I still want to pop a lot of CSI gear though. Need that variety. Like I don't have gmo, but I already have some chem d x gsc. It's a worthy cross, and throwing a few beans in the dirt is pretty low-commital. If they're bunk, toss it and no loss except a gallon of dirt. If I really wanted gmo, I'd go buy the clone.

recommend people try a growing a few clones so you know what the baseline for a keeper could be. growing chem91/chem d/tk/gsc themselves so you know what to look for/expect. lot of people grow crosses but have zero experience with the mothers and then want to complain about intersex traits, nutrients deficiencies, structure, ect. luckily csi uses some pretty well known and easy to find clones

The question was asked why doesn't a person reverse thier own clones to make seed.
No clones arent , the fact your reversing the clones full of male parts . I would love to pollinate a branch but things don't always go as planed I couldn't risk pollinating my whole room. Male parts opeing early sticking in air ducts going to my other room. Then I ruin a larger room full of plants that took me 5-6 months to grow . I personally grow large bushes . That's alot of money time space wasted Just because I wanted to make a few seeds the risk doesn't our way to gain for me personally. So I buy them.
As I wrote if I had the pollen from an outside source that I would like to do but I do not want any male parts around my crops.
I agree with the statement people should but breeder cuts to know what a good structured pheno is.

That's because most ppl honestly just like to smoke and end up growing for free smoke....lol.....as opposed to myself; I actually researched the plant after the 1st time I smoked it because I loved it so much...and still do....I watched other ppls grow journals for YEARS before ever attempting my own grow....by years I mean I started researching/watching grow journals/studying strains and genetics that interested me....in about 1997....I was a watcher; not a contributor though....I saw JJ from Top Dawgs grows which really inspired me....I saw subcools grows....nspectas grows.....and many more....I was watching when Rez popped up years later....at this point I was selling NYC Piff and STILL watching grows and researching lol.....then finally in 2020 I grew myself lol....my first grow was bubblegum s1 because bubblegum is an incredible 1st grower type of strain; she's easy; and if you treat her well is amazing to you.....and for the hell of it I tried azure haze because I love blueberry and haze.

But I'm not like most ppl in this industry anymore.
