It has fan leaves about as big as my hand! I had to tie them down or else they cover up a very, very large area. Would it be worth pinching them off completely or just leave them tied down? Seems like a lot of vegetation to pluck away. They are like ship sails.

I cut my girls mercilessly in veg. If I don't like what I see or where she's growing I tie her down and cut the overgrown fan leaves. Now the plant does need these leaves but usually in veg they grow so many more nodes that it doesn't really hurt them. I also go against the grain and trim obnoxious fan leaves all the way thru flower. Some people are dead set against this and it makes sense to limit the stress on a plant in flower. But I really never have a problem doing it and doesn't appear to negatively effect yield.

Question if anyone happens to know;

Growing these under CFLs, 10 bulbs total, each 100watt output. Since I switched the lighting to 12/12 on May 1st, I changed from 10x 6500k to 8x 2300k and 2x 6500k.
Is this appropriate lighting for them at this stage? Both have only just begun to flash their sexy parts. :leaf:

Edit; Should maybe reword some of this, I know CFLs aren't generally optimal for flowering, inducing flowering, or whatever, but in terms of spectrum and when to change it.

That mix should work fine for you. If possible keep the lights as close to the plant as you can. Helps to have a fan blow between the light and plant tops too. I have my 250 hps 5 inches from my canopy top with no heat issues. With those cfl's I would shoot for at least 5 inches and go as close as you can. Just lower your light and monitor over the next couple hours and adjust up or down depending on how they look. I have the 42w cfl's for supplemental and I keep them within 2 inches of some tops.

Lovin the screen CK. That's going to really help keep them nice and even, really make the most use of your light. They are looking very healthy for sure, nice and green and lush. Keep it up!

Today is the day I get to feed them full recommended doses! :) Been giving them half strength for a few weeks, didn't want to give them diarrhea from all the sudden good food. They look good, just bending their way through the net!

Remember to transition them slowly, keep the P/K low and N high for the first couple weeks of flower. They should be fine, just monitor them close the next few days and look for stress. Peace

Ok, then once I get inside I'll lower them a tad more and post a couple pictures.
Yeah, I've been looking off of the feeding chart for the nutes, found where I was supposed to be at, and have been slowly working them up to this, we are in the second week of 12/12.

Edit; tomorrow is the end of the second week.
