Will the driver still be running efficiently eight COBs at 700ma? Or should I get the HLG 185H C700 for that constellation?

It would be nice to have that extra power, in case I want to double my grow space. But for now I would be happy to run the COBs at 500-700ma.

great point. these guys should clearly list on their website that you are not supposed to leave this driver in a warming oven while you heat dinner at 90C(194F) for 2.28 years(20,000 hours).

I could not find an explicit 5 year warranty on this model driver, however all of their other drivers (that list a warranty) list 5 year.

But, all kidding aside, warranties are very important. even the "best" can blow out in under a year.

My opinion on CCT, the lower the better, 2700k if you can get it. Why? Because it's the warmer ones that they add significant red phospor to. High CCT ones are almost pure yellow phosphor, which when combined with blue is all you need to make what appears to be white to the eye but which doesn't do plants a lot of good.

Also, when you see that the high CCT COBs have higher lumen output it's probably because there's more yellow, which shows up higher in lumen meters than blue and red. The extra lumens could be of low active PAR value.

Just my opinions. Some may disagree. It's possible that higher CCT ones do perform better, idk from direct experience

welight! you are the cutter guy? what kit will I need for a 4x4 will the 4 kit do fine or will I need the 8? and if I fork out the cash will I get ripped off like dionysus4 said?

Im a light guy with limited grow knowledge, Im sure others can chip in, I suspect you would need at least 8 for a 4x4 area

Will I rip you off. of course buddy thats what Im here for............:cool:, seriously, not sure what dionysus4 issue is but I will resolve it it for him, Im here to make a product that works that I can sell, not to take your money and leave, that is totally unsustainable
