Finally got around to getting the plants moved into the new apartment! Lighting schedule got totally shot. The person who was baby sitting them didn't have the ability or space to put up lights so both the clones and main plants went through twenty for view or darkness plus. Not too worriedabout the main plants but a bit more about the clones, just going to keep an at the out for sacs and get them onto the normal light schedule. Do you guys think they will be ok? The plants have some burn still but are recovering. Just Easter for now though. Enjoy!

Quick update for everyone. Things are going fine, entering into the last 3 weeks of flowering. Still kinda battling with the more mature plants to keep their health up as every since the nute burn its kinda been a back and forth. Their buds however are looking awesomely frosty and are becoming rather plump. Ms. Tall's clone has some random brownspots that I believe were from it growing into the lights. I have no moved them to a window that gets light but has a privacy pane on it, so you can't see em through it. They seem to really like the regular sunlight over the light bulbs.

So I'm pretty sure Ms Tall is ready for harvest. I believe that I was wrong about when I started them flowering , and have come to the conclusion that it was probably on the first of July not the eighth. I have included some pictures, please tell me what you all think. If nobody thinks otherwise I'm giving her 72 hours than chopping her.

I was out of weed so the small nug you see in the picture I smoked. It was really good, a strong visual high that was chill and lasted maybe twice as long as the stuff I typically but. A bit of a skunky earthy smell to it.

you mean the 1st of june, right? looks more like 9 weeks old than 5 weeks. I understand exactly how it is when you run out, ya gotta chop!! but she would get bigger for ya if you waited a few more days... maybe four more days, then the 72 hrs... That would give her a full week. but if ya gotta chop, ya gotta chop!!!

Hey Stony, thanks for stopping around. I actually meant the first of July, as they were planted during the 1st of June! I was looking at the chart online that describes when to harvest, and it showed how the pistils can get super brown meaning that it will be too late. Some of those buds are showing i would say 80%+ brown pistils and I don't wanna wait too long. That is the other reason I am giving them 72 hours was to see if they would plump up some more for me. Should I leave them under the light for another 4 days or you think go into 72 hours? I have seen very little growth out of the buds lately, and the plant is very obviously draining its leaves to increase bud capacity at this point.

Also, I am not direly out of weed. I just was lazy and didn't wanna go pick up today. I am obviously eager to chop them but not totally out of options.

yep, I would wait four days then put her in the dark for 72hrs. but man, you put in the work... she is your's, if you feel comfortable cutting her now, then by all means chop her down.

my opinion is wait...

Stoney, I trust ya man. What we are going to do is this. I'm going to give her light for the next 2 days and reanalyze the situation. If I have seen a visible change or fattening I will give them the rest of Dr. Stoney's prescription wait time. If there is no change, she might go then. :) Interesting thing is that Ms. Short is not ready for harvest yet. She has atleast another week on her just looking at it.

That sounds like a good plan!!! this bud looks to be the most mature out of the bunch. I'm not big on hair color for harvest tell. i prefer cloudy trics. some breads i have are cloudy when they look like yours and some aren't cloudy till the hairs recede back in the calyx. anyway here is the one i like best!!!

I have been throwing the idea around about going to Radio Shack and picking up one of their "Illuminated Microscopes" that I have heard about in other people's threads. Supposedly really good for seeing trich color and ~$15. I just gotta go get it, working a night job doesn't help either. ><

Those scopes work great. I use one. If ya get one, be careful of the small rubber eyepiece. mine fell off and i lost it. If i would have know that, i would have glued it on!

your macro pics were actually so good that i was able to zoom in with my browser and see them that way to!!!

I have yet to go out to the store to get it, will probably have to be tomorrow due to work. Even if they were ready now another day would not hurt them. XD And isn't it amazing that those were taken with my phone?!

If your phone can get pics light that, you will love what you see under the microscope. I'm guessing your phone has an 8 megapixel camera?

Yea, the phone has an 8 megapixel camera on it. I'm already glad I waited, as Ms. Tall is showing a bit more hairs and is noticeably more triched up. I am going to be posting a picture every few days (starting tomorrow) with its progress so everyone can tell me how long they think until harvest. I will also put some pictures of of Ms. Small even though she is obviously not ready. :)

you have to be careful with the microscope, dont get to where you just rely on it because like i have just found i have a lady that has alot of amber under the scope but the hairs are still very white. you will love the scope tho once you get use to it, deff. takes some time and practice to figure out what your seeing at 100X my only helpful hint is move the scope closer and further to focus instead of using the dial. best of luck

Thanks cotton, I will remember this when using it. As far as I knew it was kinda a balancing act between the pistil growth and trichome production. If the trichomes are amber but you still have a heavy amount of new growth I figured you would leave it and analyze the newest parts of the flower. Sadly though, would this not lead to a very large body high?

Here is how it was explained to me. If you harvest with all cloudy then its a head high, if you wait and harvest amber then you get the full body high. Here is a link to where I found out.

Yea I have read that other places as well. The only thing that I was curious about was your example where you already have amber trichomes, but have more pistils growing. Isn't it true that those pistils will have clear trichomes (due to their newer production), and in such force your weed to have super couch-lock effects (since the trichomes on the interior of the bud are all amber, as you are now calculating harvest time off brand new trichomes). Hopefully that made sense.
