I defoliate, too

Also, I noticed on my Melanie's clones that some of the secondary branches had long stretches between nodes, so I pruned them. More food where it is needed most

Fan leaves are"face sucking"too now?.......are we gonna blame the US deficit on them next? Lol

Dave plants self defoliate.......but its your grow, do what you want

Attached the SCROG screen last night:

Yes, the plant can still be pulled out of the cabinet. Just need to disconnect a few power cords and take out the airstone and I can slide everything out so that I can trim the plant, change the water and do anything else that's hard to do while she's sitting inside the cabinet.

Just a couple pics of the top of the screen:

Here she is back in the cabinet. Everything fits perfectly:

I also trimmed off some of the oldest, lower fan leaves:

They were looking kinda sickly anyway. I think that might be from the plant cannibalizing them. Being way down at the bottom, they weren't getting too much light either.

3-2-1 Blast off
Do you think growth is going to take off now? I hope so! I'm just a bit concerned that I started flower too early, due to schedule restrictions. Got my fingers crossed that she'll fill up that screen before she stops stretching.

Dave, you're not cloning from this plant? What kind of string are you using in your scrog, looks sturdy? Looking man, man.

Actually, she's a girl, man. (haha) I just found some nylon string that I used. Should be strong. Is there a recommended type of string to use?

I don't have any space for cloning, so I just grow from seed every time. If they make medical mj legal in my state, I want to build a new room in my attached garage mainly for growing and might try cloning if I have enough space then. You're lucky that you have so much space! Do you have an unfinished basement in your house or something?

I have my grow tents in a back bedroom. The grow tent is 24x48x60 and I just picked up a 30x18x36 for cloning, both Lighthouse Hydro and good quality. I didn't want to mess with heating a garage tent and the frequent inspection trips at night with the garage lights on. Avoiding would be nosey neighbors and loose lips sink ships. I also didn't want the time, expense and risk of mail ordering seeds too often. Cloning may allow me a perpetual harvest to make medicine.

I wasn't recommending that you use your garage for anything. You must have understood me, bro. I just mentioned my dream of building a room in my attached garage someday. I could easily heat & cool it and make a special door into it directly from inside my house. That's the only way I could find space in my house for cloning. I'd like to do it, but I'm reluctant to start construction unless they make it legal in my state. The legislature will vote on it this spring.

She should, depending on how much indica she has. More of the red spectrums will increase stretch. Thinking it's time to run the A51 full on

What's the cfl doing in the lower right corner under your scrog table?

I've been running the red for over 2 weeks now, bro. The CFLs are just there to raise the temp a few degrees. They're 2700K, so a warm color. I needed them because my cabinet was only 66 degrees for a while.

Under the leaves I saw lots of little white hairs. Not easy to photograph, but they're there! Hopefully we'll see flowers pretty soon.

It can take ~ 2 weeks for the plant to show signs from spectral shift. What are your ppms? Perhaps bump ~ 100-200

She had a growth spurt during the 24 hour flush I just gave to her roots. So I had the opportunity to tuck a few tops under the screen after they got tall enough.

It's not easy when the leaves are so big and there are so many of them!

Now I'm seeing a lot more flowers all of a sudden.

I might have overfed her last week, because her growth slowed down. So I backed off the Sensi Bloom A & B and cut the dosage of Cal/Mag in half:

  • 55 ml Sensi Bloom A & B (each)
  • 34 ml B-52
  • 34 ml Big Bud
  • 8 ml Cal/Mag Bloom
  • … in 17 liters of pure water.

tds was only 1230 ppm (down from 1512 last week).
5.80 pH

IMHO, you are running your nutes too hot. At the same relative stage, I just went from 500 to 600

First pics are ~ 5 days old

First pic is from 432w ho5, Pic 2 is ~ 210w led- all whites

Taken Friday, when I changed rez and bumped to ~ 600

Nics pics, Dave. What camera are you using? The auto exposure is perfect. What strains are you growing there, PetFlora?

You consider getting in there and defoliating a bit, its a bit late now-(i.e. stunt) but you may be concerned about stagnant air and budrot later on, keep air moving. Have you been taking care of undergrowth to avoid popcorn? <<that and fan leaves underneath the screen are the primary concern- above the screen our lights tend to keep the humidity lower.

Tuck some more of those fan leaves, it is looking great Dave!

Keep in mind, that there is no one variable that determines your feeding regime. Co2, humidity, PPFD (intensity), system, strain, nutes... Find what works for you. You dont have any tip burn @1200ppm, yes I dont like seeing over 900, ever.. but if YOU think its helping with no ill side effects, who am I to say it is not working?

I.e.- In the first week of flower I am ~500ppm, Homebrewer, using the same Dyna Gro nutes, is feeding closer to 800-1200ppm, depending on his case. I dont like speaking for him but it is a mild example.

Hmmmm... My head's a little groggy before drinking some tea, but I'm not sure what the point of your pictures is... that your plants are healthy? Don't my plants look healthy too?

For some reason I can run the AN nutes about this strong. 1500 ppm was possibly too high, but I've been doing that for at least 2 water changes without leaf damage. I only lowered it to 1200 ppm because growth slowed down after the last time.
