I avoided the framing and spackle...lol. I first started having trouble in 1995, and have seen technology come and go. I have been avoiding fusion like the plague. Nothing that can't be undone unless it has at least 70% probability of working. The stimulator helps. Think of it like an internal TENS unit on steroids. I can control distribution via wireless remote and I'm rechargeable...lol. Leads directly into the spinal column, so where a TENS is only effective between electrodes, I can contol from my lower back down. With all of the pain management crapola these days, and the cost...dear god, the cost...HERE WE ARE! I have always liked my weed, but it is multipurpose now...lol
So glad to run into you guys!
Glad that you found something that helps relieve your nerve pain, Greatbranch. That stimulator sounds interesting. I suppose it's major surgery to implant it, which might be why my doctors never told me about it. Yes, I burned through a shitload of money searching for a solution and NONE of it helped very much! Some treatments are just a money maker for the clinics that provide them. I took a 3-week pain management class at the Mayo Clinic that was basically worthless to me. But Mayo rakes in lots of money from that program. Pot doesn't work for me 100% of the time, but probably more like 95%. And then I take Percoset for the other 5%. Thanks for sharing your story, dude. I hope you do a journal sometime so I can follow it.

It was actually an outpatient surgery. Similar to nerve blocks (ick), but they insert the leads. Most of the pain is from them making a "pocket" for the device itself. It is only ideal for certain situations. I consider myself lucky.

Anyway - YOU'RE KILLING IT, DAVE! How about an update to put my 4 week flowering cotton candy to shame?

Wow, I wonder how many people lurking here have spinal issues?
i too suffered a spinal injury about 17 years ago (blown out C7/T1, nerve damage and now massive arthritis and degeneration) ...tons of muscle relaxants, pain pills....tens, accupuncture (actually helps), ketamine treatments, etc.....I am here too!

Thanks for the Inspiration, I am preparing for the day when I am able to try this treatment....slave to the man for another 6 months and the man say NO CANNABIS!!

Keep it up.

Oh and most importantly....for the type of nueropathic pain that is being discussed...what is your opinion/experience on the best strain(s)....as well, do you find that oils and/or hash are more effective at alleviating pain?

Thanks!

Welcome Balke! I hope your state's legislature legalizes medical mj soon. Mine is going to take the issue up this Spring. You could grow in your house and not tell anyone about it. That's what I do. Just a thought.

I personally like strains high in CBD that make you feel stoned, because they seem to relieve pain best. Everything I've grown so far has been reasonably good at that. And I really like the LSD strain (pot, not acid) and this Critical Kush. Pineapple Chunk and Tahoe OG were pretty good as well. I don't know what other strains might have reputations for relieving nerve pain. Hash doesn't help me any more than pot does. And I haven't tried oils or dabs yet. I suppose it depends on what kind of pot those extracts are made from. Anything high in CBD seems to work well for me.

That gave me a chuckle!
I am moving to Colorado in 6 months so it is all good. My problem aint where I am...the jail they would lock me up in rhymes with Ft. Leavenworth.

Thanks for the info, I will be lurking....and admiring your grow!

That's looking pretty good there, brother. Are you doing DWC or soil or ??? Using an HID?

I'll post an update after I change the water. Slacking off today because I had to toke a lot last night and didn't sleep well because my back was actin up. On the bright side, I got a new ash catcher bowl yesterday, so I could use my bong again! :bigjoint:

Aha! You really are a slave to the man if you're in the military. Best of luck to you when you regain your freedom.

It is, in fact, a hempy bucket. Run two 5 gal in a 32x32x60 tent with 2 blackstar 135w UFOs and a 150w HPS for additional heat. I veg in a phototron with T5s. You guys have me saving for one of those Area-51 lights. Hard to argue with them.

Sounds like a very nice setup. With an Area 51 light, it'll be awesome!

You are too kind. Compared to most, my setup is a hot mess...lol. I, like many folks, should have done better research before spending. I just wish I had the "engineering" skills to overcome my budget! I have what I need to produce. Now, I need to produce MORE :bigjoint:

Hope you are doing better! My legs dance their own jig at night...lol.

I am a little disappointed in my Cotton Candy yield (to come). I have WWxBB that is kicking its butt under the same conditions. Will get the same yield from a plant half the size, I think. Good learning experience for me as far as difference in strength of limbs and such. I think at a certain size with lighting setup being equal, you get diminishing returns as the plant has more tops. (you guys will say "duh!"...lol) Cut me some slack :) I am dialing things in.

Dave - did you have other LEDs prior to the Area51? I know I am inferior. Just not sure how much so. (Why does that sound like I just copped to having a small dick?) Time to start hiding funds from the wife with the quickness!

Anyway - while we are anxiously awaiting you to show us her tits, here is one of the tops of my midget WWxBB using my little LED flashlights...lmao.

HURRY!!!! Change your res, bust out your tripod, then work that B- with the ash catcher and RELAX :-P It sounds like a small day, but I feel your pain, my friend. I just finished watering and the temp dropped about 40 degrees overnight - IGOR WALKING (Hey - ever think of marketing accessible solutions to our hobby? - I am not handy at all, but I am a design geek in the software world)

Interesting... What is WWxBB? I'm not familiar with all the popular strains. (I would guess that WW = White Widow?)

Geez, your plants are a lot frostier than mine is! When did you begin flower with these? Mine's beginning week 5 now. From your previous post I got the idea that yours are at about the same point. I think something's wrong with my grow that I'm about to post pics about. It's not good news this time... :-( ...but hopefully I caught it in time and can fix it if I can identify the cause of the problem.

Yeah - it's White Widow x Big Bud...sorry. We are at about the same point. I started flower on the 15th of Dec. Buds look alright, but the weight is lacking (I bet we ALWAYS feel like that...lol)

Bad news??? We can't have any of that!

I just noticed the appearance of the dreaded white leaf tips:

Here's another shot:

I didn't see this yesterday, so I think it just happened. Yesterday the nute concentration was down to 820 ppm, after starting at 1230 ppm at last week's water change.

Is this a deficiency of Cal/Mag again?
For the last 3 weeks or so I added less Cal/Mag than I was during veg. Maybe that was a mistake. My grower's manual says that a Mag deficiency causes the leaf tips to curl upwards and turn brown.

I'm flushing the roots right now with pure water. I'll let that run until tomorrow like I usually do before refreshing the nutes.

Okay, here's a video showing the plant's canopy from different angles:

Not sure this means anything at all, but some of the new growth is a little lighter in color than the older leaves:

One more shot of the canopy for good measure:

Smoking is ok to relieve your discomfort however imbibing cannabis oil can help cure you:

Thanks, Edge. I appreciate the thought, but...

 1. Where am I going to get this oil? And can I afford to drink it?
 2. I don't believe anything on YouTube.
 3. I'm always skeptical about natural cures unless there's scientific evidence that they work.
 4. It doesn't make sense to me that cannabis oil could repair spinal cord damage, but smoking or eating pot can't. You get all the cannabinoids from smoking pot, right?

But I'll keep an eye out for news stories about it. If it really works, it'll get into some journals or news articles eventually. Thanks for the thought.

Dave, after you view that video, view this startling one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZfWglJ2wmU

1. You will have to grow and make it yourself. The video tells you how. It doesn't cost that much if you grow your own.
2. There are hundreds of cases of cannabis oil cures for cancer, diabetes, other auto-immune disoders, and even some spinal cord repairs. Some are anecdotally documented here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rick-Simpson/298774923502987
3. You will not get scientific evidence because the U.S. Government has virtually shut down any scientific research in this country because cannabis is classified as a Schedule 1 drug. Any scientific researcher must petition the federal government to study cannabis and the cannabis can only be obtained from the only U.S Federal farm. However they have denied almost all requests for medical and scientific study. The U.S. has forced our war on drugs worldwide in 1961 UN Treay. Only Uraguay has recently broken this treaty.
4. When you extract pure cannabis oil from high quality buds you obtain a 98% threshold of THC and other cannabinoids required for body tissue repair. Smoking and eating pot only gives you less than 15% threshold and is ineffective at that level.

I am growing the majority of my cannabis to make cannabis oil as a preventive maintenance against cancer and for overall health. Yes, I will have some recreational pot but my raison d'etra for grow cannabis is to make the oil. I implore you to study my links and google for more info. Good luck on your progress.
