Doing some bonsai work. Thinking where I want to take a line. Personally I want to find something long lasting, cerebral, euphoric, and relaxing. Specifically to treat conditions; Anxiety, Rapid Cycle Bipolar Disorder, Stress, Depression, and ADHD (I want happy bud). Have a lot of seeds coming in to hunt for something for my brother’s MS as well.
I’d toss a few cuts but probably better to just build as big of a selection as possible for the first round of open pollination.

I started a remodeling company and that is renovating for someone else. The next grow setup will be a pretty sweet full auto 5x5 tent later on. Veg on a 4 tier wire shelve with a few blue t5s.

Jam On It Update:
JOI#4 smells like glazed jelly doughnuts, going to be super low yielder but she’s so frosty and crazy dense.

JOI#3

Did my last round of defoliation. Just what the plant looked like it was gonna get rid of. Took 28 gallons of water to hit runoff on all plants currently in flower with fresh nutes. Full strength FT Simple DTW Feeding w/Cal-Mag plus. I wasn’t doing PH for a while but I noticed a small swing and corrected to 6.1.

Day 37

I was gonna do a local clone thing and maybe have my lady grab her caregivers license. I’m just gonna play it safe. They didn’t care last time and I have too much to lose these days. 24 plant limit with medical license and 25 miles away from a dispo. Cutting down on plants and just gonna make a bunch of seeds so I don’t have to buy more anytime soon. After this last purchase of some old school stuff of course.

NTS: I need to stay in my journal this is suppose to be relaxing. I’ve definetly been doing this a long time but my opinions on things should be private, I still have a lot to learn.

Guessing most of my room except 2 plants will be pulled by 70 days. Midtown Madness and Jam On It #1.

#1. Musky Modified Banana smells.
Day 40.

Grabbed test nugs off everything. Used Oven Tek. The winner at this point is the Midtown Madness A.
Looking into the lineage:
(ONYCD x Sour Diesel BX2)
((Chem 91 Skunk VA x Tres Dawg) x (Chemdawg x Mass Super Skunk))
JOI has the highest bag appeal & BBM had the best smells IMO. MM was the best smoke by a lot. Smells like burnt rubber and dirty 409 (like if your cleaning an old house). My lady said it smells gross like bad breath. I get why people love Diesels. I think she’ll go about 11 weeks maybe 12. If the end smoke is this much better it’ll make dropping everything else a lot easier. But the Oven Tek is just an exclusive sneak preview and nothing in comparison to the final cured smoke test.

JOI #4 hermed, one seed pod found on the plant. Very undeveloped looks like maybe a week or two ago it pollinated itself. Just one pod, inspected the others and found nothing but now I have to wait until dry and inspect the nugs for seeds. Either way #4 is dropped. For me now the front runner is #1. It’s got longer flowering time then the #3 but I like a 10-12 week flower. Those 7-8 week strains tend to be very Indica and sedative. #1 also looks like it will yield the most with a plethora of spear-shaped colas. I think the JOI will all be ready besides the #1 by day 64-70.

Nutrient Selection:
My Modified Jacks 321 vs Athena Pro vs Custom Salts
I only want to run a 3 chamber nutrient doser so I’ll have to figure out which one will give me the best results w/ least work. Athena is PH stable but not very hard or expensive to build an automated ph adjuster for my Rez. I’m leaning Custom, honestly I think a custom route would be easiest to hookup in a doser setup and will probably be the cheapest in the long run. Will need to get my water tested and figure out how to make it work w/o having to use RO. I don’t like how wasteful RO is.

Watering Method:
Drip irrigation. I remembered why I wasn’t a fan. Keeping the line clean is work. Also you need so many lines to get an equal saturation. It’s in the way, etc. The best method I’ve used is a low pressure pump attached to a hose and nozzle so I’m going back to that. Very low pressure to avoid splashing and a nozzle with reach. I do want to be fully automated so I’ll have to do more research. Don’t want to have to buy a product like cleanse and don’t want to keep pumping chlorine through my lines. Could always go back to RDWC w/ autofill but I think dialed in DTW Coco will be the most water efficient and all around efficient

Plant layout and Medium:
9 plants 3 rows of 3, 1 layer scrog, 2 layer trellis.

Medium notes:
Coco can be reused indoors or composted for outdoor garden. The goal will be to dial in nutrient levels to keep nute and water waste as low as possible. Will need a plug in monitoring system to monitor nutrient and water parameters.

Light:
Most likely an HLG w/ UV but still looking. 1000 watt category ran around 600 watts was the seeming sweet spot from other growers. either way I’m only buying one with a 5 year warranty

Pest Control:
UV light attachment, Cold-pressed Neem/Peppermint Hemp Castile Soap/Rosemary Oil. Alternating to Spinosad for 3 spray cycle every 10 weeks (Veg Only/Indoor Only), Yellow Sticky Traps, Botaniguard, 2” Sand or perlite.

Water Rez setup:
Not an autofill in the sense it will stay full, but will fill itself. Will need a float valve on a timer. Will fill, mix, ph, and feed entire volume, when no nutrient are used it will just ph, the. feed. I’m going to build an adjustable height float valve. Once I’m dialed in I’ll know how much water to feed per week. UV bulbs with fill timer. The timer will turn on long enough to fill entire volume but float valve will stop it. Once time turns off power to fill a different timer will turn on whatever watering system I use till entire volume would be drained. I’ll time each fill and drain time a couple times. 6 outlet commercial airpump with 6 large air stones will turn on for entire fill and drain cycle. Not keeping a full Rez will keep me from having to maintain a Rez sterile or benificials.

Tent Liner Setup for DTW:
I’m going to build a raised bed and either modify a condensation pump or do another timer rig on a small water pump. The only time I should have any amount of real run off is during flushes. I want my feeding to reach saturation with low leg off between the periods of removing salt buildup. 5x5 plastic raised bed with drain valve.

The rest went to my buddy’s outdoor. Clones of these will head over there too once I have them and pop the trapstar. Open Pollination will occur there. Something came up and I need the space. I’m still 49 days from the first proper test of this pheno hunt (one month cure), which I think started with about 30-35 seeds. I’d have to go back to my old journal.

Smells-Piney/mild Lemon/rotten fruit/musky. Structure-She has the OG structure I’m familiar with.Chunky nugs that are light covered in trichomes and “red hairs”.

Smells- Sour Lemons over OG undertones. Very Sharp and strong Lemon smells. Not the pinesoul lemon, like smelling and incredibly sour lemon.
Structure- much more tight node spacing. Still frosty but it seems to be swelling up the hairs more. She seems like she will take slightly longer to finish and will end up a bit closer to day 70.

Day 57
Defoliating a lot every day closing in on these last two week. Want to get as much gone before chop as possible exposing all the budsites to direct light. Keeping temps around 72 lights on and dropping humidity to 45-50%
Harvesting Day 63; Jam On It 3,4,5, maybe 2.
JOI 1-has the highest bag appeal and grows the best. Decent Yield but frosty, just need to make sure she’s stable. Purpled around Week 6. Stretches but stems stayed strong and didn’t start falling over till about week 7. Will probably flower 10-11 weeks
JOI 2- Green Pheno, mostly, all phenos purpled at least slightly. Used to chase it now I just want green phenos. Finicky, stretched a lot with no stem strength. Will use a silica supplement outdoors with her. Flower 9-10 weeks
JOI 3- Super frosty but she’s ugly structure wise and her leaf ratio is crazy. Wouldn’t want to be consistently trimming her would be a nightmare. Flower 9-10 weeks
JOI 4- Low yielding jelly pheno, looks like dispo bud, dense af, but she hermed... can’t grow sinsemilla with herms. Flower 9 weeks
JOI 5- Similar yield as the 4 but looks stable. Needs lots of defoliation though. Flower 9 weeks
Midtown Madness 1- Super finicky, Chuncky nugs that smell of burnt rubber, tiny stems that resemble the OG Kush I’m familiar with. Really tiny stems with Fox-tailing nugs that are still rather dense. Needs a lot of defoliation and support. Nugs started to cause it to fall over as soon as they began stacking. I tied all the branches to the ceiling. Random necrotic spots would appear on leaves randomly. Flowering 11-13 Weeks
BBM 1- OG structure, Chuncky frosty nugs, skunky/musky, mild lemon, piney. Slow Veg growth but amazing structure. 50% stretch and can take lots of light. Flowering 10 weeks
BBM2- similar structure to the 1 but tighter node spacing, higher yield but similar nugs. Trich covered. Don’t think the swell will absorb all the hairs so I’m guessing she’ll be hairy as well. Sour Lemon Overload. Flowering Week 10
BBM3- Structure was all over the place and really leafy. Stretched and could support itself by week 5-6. Piney with almost no lemony smell, more like a candied pine smell. Flowering 10 weeks
Trop Cherry #8- Chuncky Chuncky nugs. The test nugs have been meh but it’s the one all my buddies want. A high yielder and easy to grow. Flowering 9-10 weeks

Dropped everything from this pheno hunt again. Skunkhouse at least deserves a rerun of their gear. Maybe I’ll snag a bunch of one strain that stands out later on but I dropped the BBM 1/2. I have 3 new strains coming in.

Beleaf said they’re gonna take care of me. Been really cool so far. Probably only run Skunkhouse again if they drop a Modified Banana. Kept the Trop Cherry #8 in place of the BBM#2. Feel like they’re moving away from Mod Banana but the cut I like is the Shango Cut anyway and they do their own pheno hunts. I’m going to look into if it’s possible to get ahold of that cut.

Not going to need bud for a while. Will have bud shots soon.

Found out the Shango modified banana cut is a real thing but it’s held tight, not giving up yet. Maybe one day. Suppose to be getting TK, Chimera #2, and Super Silver Haze by the end of June. Going to test them all for HLVD, going to quarantine these next 3 from the rest just in case.

Gonna be on break from school after next week till August (Halfway to my universal EPA), so my to do list; garden (transplant all seedlings, dig up planters and beds, Etc), greenhouse build, chickens, fence, soil prep/ soil recycle, trim and jar all bud for curing, take down grow room, build tent setup for indoor, build micro mom room (stealth growbox setup), & Order seed purchase.

After I finish the tent builds, pheno hunt the “elite” strains, and finish greenhouse I plan on starting Days on Dagobah 3 with my start at breeding. Pop the Trapstar and the SFV OG and start from there
