I think over the years of popping seeds (thousands) I’ve snagged 2 keepers. My standard for keepers is too high. Alien Rift #11 the most chemical gassy plant I’ve ever grown. Just the loudest weed I’ve ever grown. Also a True Purp Hawaiian Haze freebie that took 13 weeks (was when I first started out, didn’t know about cloning) the high was crazy cerebral and uplifting plus bag appeal was insane. She tasted and smelled like mint. After growing about 40 “elite” strains I’d say about 10 compared to them so the ratio is much higher. Using this 1/4 ratio I can guess at least 2 of these will be awesome. Hoping to get down to 3-4 keepers so I’m going to be very picky this test run. Just going to do soil as well keep things simple stupid. Gnat overwatch, EWC, mycos, Kiss. If there all super dank well then I’m gonna have to figure something out. Damn you plant limits. I need to move somewhere I can have at least like 50.

Trying to get a cut of Mango Nigerian Haze. Going to Cali next month for my grandmothers 100th. Going to hit a couple nurseries. Grabbing Platinum Cookies and another OG Kush for sure at least. The Midtown is hands down the best smoke and I pulled her early IMO. Running both phenos outdoors this year to have more personal. Plan on trimming over next two days and building new setup. Starting flower when I can rotate all mothers.

Probably won’t be updating too much anymore unless it’s about the breeding. Life is getting kind of busy.

I got a pack of Modified Banana F2s coming. Gonna open pollination F3 them and do some selective F3s. Smoked this strain the day my son was born so it’s special to me.
Snow High order coming soon. Panama Red and a couple others.

Top Dawg is dropping more StarDawg in August so I’ll grab a couple of those and some hazes from them. Mr.Nice Hazes as well.

Got the SSH Isabella snips in but I don’t think theyll make it probably need a retry but won’t test till next run now. Same with the Chimera #2 coming from Beleaf. TK was delayed as well but no rush. I’ll just run these seven, I’m seeing roots beginning to form so not much longer.

Breeding projects I’ve finally broken down to 3 categories. Don’t want to spread myself too thin and these feel perfect. OG Project, Haze Project, & Modified Banana Project.

Hope Everyone is well.

Chimera #2 from Beleaf is in. The herm issues of the Jam on It is rough because of the seeds and time wasted but I’ve seen companies not care at all so 5 star customer service from me. My buddy got her potted for me while I was in Cali. Didn’t end up grabbing anything from there either nothing I really wanted, but smoked some crazy good bud.

Ghost OG
Mendo Breath F3
Stardawg (Best Cut after test)

The only ones I’m keeping^ HLVD testing them soon. Still trying to snag the SSH Isabella or OldSog and TK. Rubber gas on the Madness. It’s gone first. All of it, smalls. Smoked it and I didn’t knock that grow out either. Getting A & B back. A bunch of my cuts are floating around a couple discord spots including the madness. Been busy with the veggies but clone run will start soon then I’m open pollinating the Modified Banana F2s run em till pre-sex and give the boys a few days head start.

Attempting to compost Cacti. Couldn’t find a lot about it. It’s a succulent and grows wildly everywhere around here. It can grow from any piece of itself which may make composting difficult. Lacking much Green for composting I’m going to try

I’m going to double blackout tarp the pileafter I add 200 gallons of Mushroom Compost and some Steer Manure.

I’d say it’s north of 500 gallons.

With the composting of cactus I’m guessing keeping it too moist for a few weeks is probably a good idea since it decreases the chances of rooting cactus pads.
I’m going to be removing a large portion of prickly pear cactus from my property soon but I’m going to fertilize and take care of the rest. I want enough healthy Cacti to grow somewhere around 3-500lbs a year of Prickly Pear.
I’m going to compost a large portion but I will also start about 200 pads in containers to sell at the local farmers market. They’re already acclimated to our environment.
I’m also going to be heading up the San Pedro River to collect about 200+ of plantable cuttings of San Pedro Cactus and harvesting some for research purposes.

Raised Garden Beds:
I was trying to find an Adobe style process for natural breakdown. I decided to go with Natural (Local) Stone and Mortar build. I’m going to be making my own ancient style mortar to save even more money. I would’ve preferred to build them in a dry stone wall style but I don’t plan on going to a quarry and just harvest local rocks and sledging them myself so I can’t guarantee the same quality stone and I want it to be beautiful and functional. I plan on calling the city and going to new construction sites to see if I can remove the pulled stone or any piles around the city free of charge for the rocks before I just drive into the desert and load a ton of rocks into my truck. I’ll update that soon. Also converting an old Amazon cheap greenhouse frame (15’x7’ model) into a enclosure for Quail. Chicken wire the entire greenhouse and build a nice coop in there. I’ll upload picture of everything soon. Till then, again.

Anyone in a an area San Pedro grows wildly this may help.

During my studies of growing succulents. Cactus especially I found out what I thought was some kind of fungus affecting several of my prickly pear Cacti is actually a bud called Cochineal. Primarily it’s use is in making an old dyeing agent. Very easy to control but I plan on doing a harvest and doing a test run locally to see if it’s profitable to keep around. The history is rather crazy when I began to look into it.

Going with this instead. I already have the wire. Just need post going every four feet and something to strap the wire to the post.

Met another farmer up the road. He has grapes and strawberries growing which I’ve had trouble with in the past. Gave me some pepper seeds native to Mexico he collected himself. I’ll post tamaro.

cleaned of my cactus, there’s enough local cactus with the stuff I could harvest it. I’d rather have my personal ones producing fruit. Going to get dragonfruit soon. Going for a late pepper harvest especially Aji Charapita.

Tepin Chili is what they were called.

Building raised beds today and prepping indoor for flip to flower.

Have to get all those planted and going. Will bring over a lot of green material for compost. I need around 500 cu ft of soil and am paying around 2.50-3.00$ per right now and want to get that down. On a time crunch now. Jalapeños, Pusa Asita Carrots, Strawberries, Cucumber, Summer Squash, and Okra all held up in old nursery greenhouse that will be used for Quail or Chickens. Going to be bringing In more flowers to increase pollinator activity.
These two products are something I keep consistently no matter what I’m growing. Manure I usually keep around 10% (Post Compost. I compost with manure as well). The mushroom compost. I will litterally have mushrooms coming in every grow. You can see the mycelium when your mixing it, great stuff. Whatever the cheapest by context. I has a good ingredient list, I do not care about brand. NPK ratio has a good read and lots of recognizable adds guano, castings, Etc.

All in on first raised bed is 74$ and some change with the leftover materials I already have. I have enough pressure treated for the next box I could’ve used for this one but it’s anchoring the greenhouse currently. After transplant I’ll use it to build the next box. Gonna be sledging concrete slabs and using the rubble to replace river rock.

My total cost on potting soil (300 cu ft) is 1200$. 1 cu. ft of compost is around 2.50$ like I said earlier. I’ll need around 300 cu ft of that as well (750$). I hope to make all of that to offset cost. The quicker I can make this profitable the better. Trying to have a permaculture system eventually.
Here is some information that’s been really helpful to me for composting. Had to go on a a little dive for the composting of succulents. Never over complicated it before, but here it is over complicated as needed:

“Maturity of Composting Products”

“Generalized Composting Process”

“Overview of Several Types of Composting”

“Soil Solarization as an IPM & Composting Tool”

Happy Fathers Day to all the good Dads out there.

Called around local landscaping companies and found a 3 part raised bed mix @ $36.50 per 1/2 ton (Around a Cubic Yard~27 Cubic ft)

My city also has an award winning green waste management program. They sell a cubic yard of compost for $25.00.

273.75 Soil
187.50 Compost
461.25 Total Medium Cost

75 per 200 Cu. ft Raised Bed
150 Total Cost materials
611.25 Total Garden Update Cost

Im going to burry my pile of compost cactus and plant a couple trees on them. Pomegranate and lemon. Also planning on doing dragonfruit.

Got my tent in today and hooked up. These plants are a bit neglected so I’ll get them in shape over the next 14 days and flip. These are all the Clone Only plants I have to test.
