is this the way to grow, seen a guy on youtube that had a amazing plant only a couple months old. dont see much talk about it here?
I don't know if I would totally agree. I started with DWC for my first grow. I used flora nova series nutes. Even as a beginner it was very easy for me. I set my PH @ 5.7 and change out Rez every 4 days. As long as you are dedicated to your research and are confident in your knowledge. You could pull a DWC off very easy. Just read up about before you go buying some expensive system. Because you can build a nice one for around 40$. STAY HIGH!!DWC can easily and cheaply set up. I however, would NEVER steer a beginner towards DWC. You need to have a hell of a bigger knowledge base and diagnostic ability when growing DWC. You need to give the plant PRECISELY what it wants when it wants it. If you can' rattle off different nutrient deficiencies and what they look like I would think twice about DWC.
just my 2 cents.. from a guy that has grown outdoors and indoors with soil, ebb/flow, and DWC(and I'm not talking about growing in a box inside a closet with CFL's either.
I started in DWC and I did encounter deficiencies and nutrient burn etc etc , its a very easy set up but new growers have to understand the maintenance involved with it and how important it is to have cool water temps in DWC. Alot of beginners dont think you need cool water in DWC and then they get the slime. Anyone can do DWC but man does it throw you a lot of problems and you really have to monitor your garden and water daily..If you know you get lazy at time dont do DWC. I always tell DWC beginners " keep that water 70 degrees and lower!"I don't know if I would totally agree. I started with DWC for my first grow. I used flora nova series nutes. Dude, you should see my DWC chiller in action. Its soo fucking money! It only runs a total of 3 hours a day and keeps the entire system between 65 and 68.I started in DWC and I did encounter deficiencies and nutrient burn etc etc , its a very easy set up but new growers have to understand the maintenance involved with it and how important it is to have cool water temps in DWC. Gotta love automation.
It's funny how these threads always turn into something else ^^
Besides that, I DID NOT start DWC and I STILL had my fair share of issues.. and a lot of them could have easily been avoided if I had the funds to get the equipment I want..
It is, however, my first SERIOUS hydroponic experience. Soil or outdoor.. just doesn't compare. DWC is A WHOLE LOT MORE WORK!
It is a lot of work. If you dont do RDWC man its a back breaker if you are doing more than 3 plants. Kills every other way of growing in veg though. It's funny how these threads always turn into something else ^^

i been doin soil for the last yr or so and i just started dwc in a 18 gal rubbermaid tub with 10 babes on each . i set up 2 tubs with 10 sites each for about $80 . thats including a pump with 2 air outlets . i veged for a month and they took off way faster that soil . the leaves even feel alot softer and healthyer. it sux haveing to change out water tho. i got 6 18 gal tubs and at water change i have to dip it out with a bucket and fill the same way ... thats dumping 18 or so 5 gal buckets then filling with 18 . thats alot of work so think about an easy way to drain and fill them .. try to not be carrying buckets like my dumb ass. BUT you get 10 nice plants in the same space u could only put 2 5 gal buckets. im in the beg of second week of flower. i hope to put up some pics soon hope this helps.
