Dense(ing)up Light/Heat Stressed Buds

Greetings All,

For my first grow in years and first photo-period I chose White Rhino & Wedding Cake. Wedding Cake exploded on me and got to 51", 6' with the pot. I wasn't too aware of light stress but I sure did learn as Wedding Cakes colas grew right to my 2000w output LED grow light. (Possible nutrient lockouts as well caused by too much P of Ca).

As a result the whole plant decided to get light and airy buds (A few good rebels in there).

I flushed with 30 gals of water and moved the plant away from the lights. So far things have stabilized. I'll be giving her some potassium supplements and letting her go to wk 10.

Does anyone have any solid solutions or recommendations to Dense up lite airy buds? Everyone's input is appreciated.

Hey @Emerson_Pharma -- welcome to Roll It Up. "lite airy buds" makes me think not enough light. I know you said they grew to the light but without a photo I'm just guessing, and I'm guessing your girl grew right up to the light because it wasn't getting enough light in the first place. If so, this is why you weren't
too aware of light stress
becasue there wasn't any light stress.

Again, I'm just guessing, but if I had to bet a dollar I'd say your "2-thousand watt light" is pulling just over 200 watts at the wall, just 10% of what the box said. Given some of that power will be lost to heat and to the fan your plant is lucky if it is getting 175 watts of actual LED light, which would cause lite airy buds.

Totally agree. One of my lights is a 2000W led lol, with both switches pulls between 400-500 from the wall, so 360-450 out the lights. Glad I have some others too
