i germinated my seeds one i put in soil about an hour ago its tap root was about a 1/4 inch. is that too short? that one im just gonna let grow out, but should i wait longer on the other one to get alittle longer?

thanks for the response man and i put a clear plastic can over the seed i put in soil and poked some holes in it to make a humidifier will that help any?

Why would a seed need a humidifier??
Just make sure the soil is damp then wait 1-5 days for it to pop. Cannabis isn't some mystical plant that needs 24/7 care like some would have you believe. It'll grow just fine without mass doses of nutes, perfect ph water etc etc blah blah blah

The explanation of how light affects " some " photoperiod seeds and causes them to be in a state of readiness for germination and yet prevents other seeds from germinating is highly complex. Suffice it to say that it is mainly the light's effect upon a plant pigment called phytochrome within the seed. This relates to the type of light which the seed receives. As a generalisation, light in the red wave length usually promotes germination whereas blue light inhibits it.
( Sometimes ) I put a small CFL 50w ( simple 2700k ) above SOLO CUP at around 6" to give a little warmth but seeds will pop around 24/48 hours if you planted within 1/4" deep in soil .
They will do fine in a regular lit room . Then you can move to a better light placement once they start their stretch.
