Hello everyone. So i just put my plant into 12/12 a week ago but i think i ruined it. Today before i left home i forgot to turn off the lights so its been on for more than 12 hours. In about 1 hr it will be 24hrs straight that they have been on. So what should i do? Just turn it back to 12/12 or keep the lights off for 24hrs then go back to 12/12? Any suggestions?

-Thanks

I would just put them back to 12/12 and forget it ever happend, stuff like that has happend to me plenty of times.I wouldnt worry too much.

you will be fine! like chow said, forget it and move on bro, just dont make it a BAD habbit get you some timers

Well i have one of those older spin timers, were it has a 24hr circle and as time goes the circle spins and clicks to turn off, but i heard those short out easy. And i really don't want to risk a fire lol

Yeah i forgot to say get a timer, those spinny ones are the same as what i have, they tend to fall out of sink a bit but it beats doing it by hand

Yeah seriously get a timer, I initially was like meh I'm home most of the time so I can turn it on and off but it really does help with unforseen situations and makes things a whole lot more simple.

Those "old spinny timers" are great and reliable. They are actually called mechanical timers, and still available at just about every hardware store. I use one, and always have. They are a heavy duty metal powder coated box that can handle lots of power and can even be rewired fairly easily to handle more. But, I guess buying cheapo plastic parts from wal-mart has become the fad.

Yeah this is the mechanical timer i have.

I just decided not to use it because i heard someone on here say that they short out, and i think we can all say we wouldn't want the risk of a fire in our homes. But now that i have other opinions saying they are fine i guess i will use it :) Thanks!
